  • Every living organism on earth is connected through a microscopic yet vast world called cells. The fundamental principle of biology states that all living creatures- animals, plants, fungi, bacteria, though categorized in taxonomic groups, have one thing in common, and that is their composition being derived from cells.

  • Just came across Four Tet tonight. Completely wonderful. What a cool production!

  • Beautiful, and groooveehhhh!

    I love Four Tet :D

  • this is four tet.

  • music is music

  • i don't know how i went so long without seeing this video, this is a masterpiece. i am very impressed by the rhythm created by the movement of the shots.....

  • best new song i've heard in a while...i love when that happens

  • clean dubstep>dirty dubstep

  • @martinmerl yes mate, just need to get everyone to know this...

  • @martinmerl This ain't Dubstep.

  • @martinmerl noooope! this is IDM bro ;)

  • stellar track

  • 錦糸町〜新小岩あたりの景色ですな

    見慣れた景色が使われててびっくり

  • It's like a psychedelic version of Star Guitar. Great track

  • damn youtube comments suck balls

  • If I had to come up with a genre for this I'd classify it as 2-step electronica.

It doesn't sound anything like dubstep to me. The people that are talking about 'early dubstep' are talking about 2 step garage, which is one of the main places dubstep slowly evolved from.

But it doesn't matter anyway. Sound. Listen to it.

  • awesome track!!!!! :d i like it

  • Why did this song have to include that sample thrown in at 1:39? It made it annoying and was soooo awesome until that.

  • @mateofleckito no for me just that part makes the song awesome :p

i mean it ;), it just makes the song unique.

  • @mateofleckito that part is genius

  • @mateofleckito are you insane?

  • Lovely addition to my "Perpetual Motion Picture Soundtrack" (tm)

  • yeah yeah :)

  • one of my favorite songs by four tet <3

  • I listen to this while I work on graphics and web sites for other people.

  • sick shit

  • Stop trying to categorize and compare music to other music. Just listen to it and like it. That's all that matters.

Music like this doesn't need to be introduced, pre-packaged, and fed to the masses with 'nutritional information'. Let your ears be the only thing between the sounds and you.

  • fuck off.

  • @VeridicalFiction Very well said, I'd shake your hand if I could get it into my laptop somehow!

  • @VeridicalFiction

    you're absolutely right, man.

  • This is not Dubstep at all ever.

  • Great track and Excellent job on the video !!!

  • how can i be discovering this only now ?? it's ridiculously beautiful..... can't stop playing it again and again till my eyes hirt.

it kinda reminds me Trentmoller's 'Miss You'. Both tracks are amazing..................

  • if you like this check out prefuse73, jel, the octopus project. Dosh, John Kennedy, odd nosdam, the force field kids, rjd2, subtle, alias, aim, boom bip

  • wow! so many references among which i only knew Aim. i did a quick review of most of the others. you seem to know a lot. thanks for sharing :)

  • Always glad to be of service

  • @aleaz23 don't forget MF DOOM and Madvillian

  • ha of course dude my bad

  • lol this is a great track i like the music video 2 i only found this song on the classical channel "O Music" b4 channel AKA haha

  • @V1K35H haha me too! i'v been lookin at the channel ever since in case i find something else!

  • @ThomComputer lol yeah I've com across it too, I always check that channel now, sometimes there are some pretty good finds on there... rarely lol

  • The video was so mesmerizing.

Found this by accident and I'm glad I did. Wonderful music.

  • very nice video but reminds me too much to "Star Guitar" of chemical brothers, directed my gondry.

anyway the treatment on this is very cool. i like it.

  • Amazing editing and directiing.

Amazing tune from Four Tet :D

  • the first Four Tet song i ever heard. highly hoping that the next record will top Rounds.

  • or search iconomy

  • i'm so in love with this song :D

alot of people say they dont like the stabbing bit of sound that come in. but i really do, i think you just have to take them rhythmically and its soooo good :)

  • Gotta say I didn't like it at all at first, but when I gave the song two or three more listens I felt it just fitting so perfectly in. Pretty amazing that they actually dared do this. :D

  • this is alot like early dubstep which is what i like and the "stabbing sound" is very reminisnt of dubstep and i only stumbled across this cos of that classical channel under channel U lolol

  • Early dubstep sounded like this?

    What the fuck happened?

  • what do you mean what happend? dubstep is very good and listen to skream early stuff it sounds like this kinda

  • Heh, it was a joke. I followed dubstep for ages but have moved on to other stuff. Skream's earlier stuff was his best because the pressure of being the godfather of dubstep has pushed him into more mainstream sounds recently. I can't say I have heard any dubstep that sounds like Four Tet, they seem like completely different genre's to me, that said Burial doesn't sound anything like most dubstep, but is still filed under that genre. Also ...

  • ... Distance in some tracks sounds more like post-rock, but he is still classed as dubstep.

Four Tet is more electronic - post rock because of his roots, so I guess thats why he sounds like some forms of dubstep to some people. :)

  • but dubstep to me is such a broad range of sounds you cant really say 1 sound is exacly dubstep but ye i agree with you like distance they actually use waped electric guiter sound alot. but you sound more of a vet than me mate lol

  • Yeah, I know what you mean :).

  • A bit odd that this video was my next after CB "star guitar"! Didn´t know about similarity!

  • Comment removed

  • That just happened to me too. Watched Star Guitar, then the next vid was She Moves She. I didn't know about the similarity also. Pretty Weird.

  • a little bit like Star Guitar of The Chemical Brothers....isnt it?

  • about to say exactly the same thing before reading your comment. both brilliant, look out for the 'making of the' star guitar vid, its v interesting.

  • Beautiful song, and great video. Takes me back about five years, sitting up till all hours watching MTV2. Thanks for the upload.

  • Yes yes, I agree completely!

  • RIP 120 minutes :c

  • I know. Man. I miss that. Used to listen to it while at school.

  • Wonderful

  • I can only think of maybe 5 songs that have the most perfectly matched video to go with them, this is one of them.

  • Then tell us about the other ones ; )

  • Uhm, well, this is my opinion before anybody bitches, and it is fusion of audio and visual - Not how good either the song or video is (though both of those would help):

When You Were Young - The Killers

Vaka - Sigur Ros (directed by Floria Sigismondi)

    Only You - Portishead

And I lied about knowing 5, apparently it's only 4! ;-) Anyone else got any suggestions?

  • Ted - Clark

    There There - Radiohead

you're right.. they're hard to find! i think if you see the clip while listening to the song for the first time, they seem to fit, whereas if you watch it after listening to a song many times, it'll never fit because you've already created something else in your head (like film adaptations of books)

  • Aphex Twin - Rubber Johnny

    Amon Tobin - Verbal

Daft Punk - Around The World

Actually there are many more !

  • Good job on those, will have to check out the Amon Tobin one though (I don't know it...yet!)

Couldn't agree more with Around the World, got to love Michel Gondry :-)

  • Oooh, just thought of another one...

What's a Girl to do? - Bat for Lashes

  • The craziest fusion between audio and visual is Boards of Canada - June 9th, It's a decent track, and well,,,, I'll let the video speak for itself

  • Grayel, great shout on the Boards of Canada video, I was well impressed by that.

On a different note, check out Grau, by Robert Seidel. It's not a music video, more a soundscape. It totally rocks. Youtube does have it, but there is a better res version on his website.

  • Funny. I had never heard or seen it before. It's brilliant. Reminds me of the craziest of the Gondry. Or the videos I imagine when I hear Bowie's Berlin instrumentals.

Either way, I very much enjoyed it.

  • Harcore chillin.........
