i love SRV - but i have to say when stevie came on the scene and i read about him playing hot jumped up blues on a battered strat, all i could think was "haven't you people ever heard of Rory Gallagher?"

i saw Rory on Don Kirshner in either 73 or 74, first time i ever heard of him and was totally blown away, of course! does anybody know how i can see the film of him from that show?

also, does anybody know if rory was on don kirshner more than once?

@voyces what i remember of RG on kirshner was him playing on a small stage, in what looked more like a pub than anything else, not the usual DK stage. i've tried to think about what year it was and 75 seems too late. but that was many years and many many pickeled brain cells ago. and human memory is faulty at it's best. all i know is he tore the place up, where ever it was! but if he was on DK twice, i really would like videos of both shows.

Only Sheffield date for 1974 I can see on Joachim Matz's excellent Rory Timeline (on the RoryOn website) is December 3rd - that sound about right?

He did tour the UK in June that year too but don't see Sheffield among those dates.
