Uh, you know , it would be nice in the US if these count down timers could be used next to the traffic lights overhanging for CAR traffic! (especially at photo ticket intersections) I know very few other countries have started this. Other countries the numbers will be at green when they go from 30 to 20, then they change to yellow and then at 10, red.
Jerry, I bought one of these at a hamfest but can't seem to get the count down to work. It's a Gelcore PS7 type. Could you provide a link or info on how to wire it up?
Nice Signal...i dont think ive ever seen a Red PED indication...the ones in my Area are more of an Orangeish Tone and the Faded incandescent ones are a Yellowish tone...anyway..again...Great Video...and Excelent Signal!
Countdown pedestrian signals will become very commonplace in the coming years. They have been shown to significantly reduce vehicle/pedestrian crashes, primarily by reducing the number of pedestrians still in the street when the cross traffic starts up. The wider the street, the more helpful the countdown signal is.
The housing is probably by McCain, but that signal itself is actually made by Dialight! I recognize those same signals in Washington D.C.

My school has one of those. It is set so before and after school, it stays on for a longer time.

I believe Jerry got this particular signal from eBay, but there are different legitimate sources for purchasing one should you be interested.
