  • Are they saying?

    "Bismillah! Salla-Allah, Caleyhi HOOYAAHE"?

If so, then it could be that it started as a devotional dance (SUFI) then progressed to what we see now! I grew up in Aden Colony & people used to dance this in weddings! Also, the JAANDHEER, the HIRIMAAHE & the HOOLEBEY! Also, the HIRRIMA-DUBBE!

  • Just remembered:

They used to call it (may be we kids did that) SOO SOCO, SIRAADEY!!

  • WOW it feels so good to see our people keeping up our tradition our way of life. this is beautiful thank you for posting this vid.

  • @mizzborama maxaad sayliciga ugu koobaysaa samaroon oo qudha waqooyi iyo ogaadeniyaba way ka dhaxaysaa. mida kale hargaysa ma cuqdadbaad ka qabtaa.

  • To dalmar.

the dance is called saylici now saylacawi!!!

    to timacade

apparently there is no comparison lol this folk dance doesnt reach to hargaysa at all. it stop in Dilla. and hey this is the most amazing somali folk dance were the male participant enterntains the female participant in a non superior way lolz

  • Clearly, this is the rendition of Saylici by reer galbeed. This is how it is done between Harar, Jigjiga, HArgeisa, Borama, Saylac and Djibouti. Now, let us compare this to a lame rendition of Saylaci by the reer Bari and you be the judge.

  • AM very proud that I am Somali. nice dance keep the culture, it is very beatiful to see cayaar somali.

  • @timacade100 saxiib i am a Reer Bari so watch ur mouth nacalaa xabash-faqash-mentality haveing mafacka.. btw reer vari and all of Somali galbeed is strictly D-block Darod so watch ur mouth cayaalyahoow we run this jelous mafacka, come to puntland and talk shyt then lets see how many ak's u can fit ihn ur asshole mafacka

  • caadi ma aha cayaartan waan ka helay hadaan sida aqoon lahaa ciilbadanaa lol

  • tdotchik, it is not reer jabuuti dance. Both ciise and samaroon tribes dance like this. I just wanted to clarify that.

  • ciyaarta waxa laga ciyaaraa somaliland , qaas ahaan gobolka sool, waana laga ciyaaraaa jabouti na

  • What a dance, Thanks Dalmar!

  • Kaalay Saylaci la'arag, dhaanto la'arag, buraanbur, jiifto, goobile, niiko ciyaarkasta youtube ku aragnaye meeday shiribkii Abgaal? Just wondering - is it extinct?

  • that's what i call ciyarr

    that real ciyaar somali .

  • they should make somali music from traditional songs like this..

  • i agree with you 100%, it;slike you readingmu mind.

  • somalia ha nolaato.

  • isiiiiii.....waaba halka ciyaar aan ka daalin dheesheeda

  • this is saylici nd it is a reer djibouti dance , don't claim it plzz
