  • Gavin Harrison and Guthrie Govan are two of the most musically articulate as well as speech articulate musicians I have ever heard. It`s a joy just to listen to them speaking.

  • wow i wish more modern day musicians were like this guy! so humble so knowledgable! and of course a badass drummer! def a new favorite!

  • *** inspiration ***

  • drum master and likes soccer too? maan he is my idol!

  • Jeff Porcaro!!

  • Gavin is an excellent role model for work ethic. The man is dedicated.

  • God takes drum lessons from Gavin Harrison

  • how old is gavin? in some pictures i would gauge late forties but in this interview he doesn't looks a day over twenty five (which i know he isn't, but it's so hard to tell)

  • @populvuh02 I think he's 47 :)

  • So far I'm enjoying hearing the guy talk... more than his drumming...

    (I'm funny that way).

  • You forgot OSI in the bands list. They're awesome.

  • Check out an drummer called Chad Sexton, hes in a Bill Bruford type of mould great

  • I LOOOOVE GAVINNNN!!!!

  • im 14 and my main inspirations are gavin harrison, mike portnoy, nico mcbrain, chris adler and danny carey. these drummers have relay inspired me to start using the bell of my ride more and get more technical and not whack the fuck out of my drums as it is not relay needed. all you need to make a good beat is sole and emotion is playing.

  • @jamy313 Excellent. May I suggest Marco Minnerman as well for you to study? Good luck to you my friend.

  • What an incredible musician.

  • hell yeah you're not a punk drummer damn it, you're Gavin Harrison !

he reminds me of Billy Bob Thornton : /

  • I'm a guitarist, but one of my favorite drummers in the last few years has been Gavin along with Kris Meyers from Umphrey's McGee.

  • Gavin is playing to an early 80's Paiste demo written by Toto's David Paich and Jeff Porcaro the greatest groove sticksman ever. The guy clearly has taste as well as talent!

  • Don't get me wrong - I love the work Gavin does with PT... but Chris Maitland wasn't exactly a slouch either was he?

  • I think Chris was good, but if you listen to his version of "She's moved on" from Lightbulb Sun compared to Gavin's version from Deadwing......... just the opening few seconds alone smokes Maitland. I think Chris is good UNTIL you hear Gavin.

  • What an amazing work ethic he has! I have a lot of respect for his willingness to play whatever he could play in order to be a professional, rather than thinking of himself as an artíste.

  • wer is gavin from?

  • Porcupine Tree

  • no shit lol, i ment place

  • He's from London UK

  • Best progressive drummer around. I find it hard to see someone even getting near him.

  • Well, Danny Carey perhaps? Both are amazing, really unique!

  • Yeahh, Gavin Harrison and Danny Carey are some of the most experimented drummers, but I have to add Marco Minnemann too :P

  • Not a big fan of comparing, but if I had to choose, it's Gavin all the way. No one is as versiatle, no one is as co-ordinated and no one's got that perfect rythmic understanding and feel that Gavin so gracefully puts into a drumset. I'm not saying he's the best in the world, cause there is no such thing. But he is a LEGEND!

  • 1:37. Yeeeeah

  • Before the First Day, gavin Harrison created God.

  • lol

  • @wide87 wtf

  • 2:28. Cool!

  • A Machine.......101% Machine

  • Wow! He used to drum in an orchestra pit? My respect for this man just grows and grows!

  • where can i find this vidz to dl?

  • vic firth official site?
