I have a high school kid myself. And none of them pay attention to anything going on in this world outside of their little world. They could care less. And what I've learned is up to 50% of them are on adderall or some other ADD drug. It's fashionable to say you have ADD and to be drugged stupid. Who was out first protesting tuition hikes and on the front lines of the G-20 protests? Don’t activist youth drive such “causes” as climate change, Amnesty International and PITA and who is first out supporting political candidates? They join the military because they can’t live off minimum age. They aren’t watching “Dancing with the Stars” that’s a fascination held by the middle-aged, and American Idol is watched by the very young. These folks are far from idiots. Thanks for your comment.

A great place to start is "The World at War" DVD box set from 1974. Amazon about $40.
Your jaw will drop when you see how Germany was taken over by them. And after you watch
it let me know if you see the exact same thing taking place in America today.
