I don't think you deserve enough praise, so here's some more: Wow. That was so professionally done. The timing was flawless and chosen melody fitting. Although a recommendation: if you want it even better, experiment with including short, carefully selected speech clips from the characters (japanaise preferably, but Escaflowne's dub is better than most, so either). They could take on a low volume in the background, or move to the forefront during quiet parts during the song.
