Two thumbs up from an English lass. You rocked the accent. Sounds slightly south-midlands to me (quite a neutral accent), which is where I'm from. Well done :D
To learn an accent listen to the vowel sounds first because they set the basic tones then work on the consonants . Say A E I O U in the accent you have chosen
then the letters of the alphabet ( remember it's Zed in English ). Then pick out the most difficult words and work on them !! Before you know it you 'll be talking like an English Lady in a lady like fashion and you will be the star of the show !! My accent is British but not English

I hate the British accent thing, there is no such thing. There is Scottish Irish English and Welsh. There are many different kinds of each accent aswell, for example people from Edinburgh sound nothing like people from Glasgow and so on. We don't all have an English accent.
Rose does the phrase close but no cigar ring any bells. No offense meant you did a pretty damn good job of it, but you just need to tweak it a little bit to get it right. As it is, you would be accepted in the UK most everywhere, but they would definitely know you are American. Most people in the UK accept Americans nowadays, so don't sweat it Hon, you're close enough for everyday use. However, if you plan on imitating a Brit accent, you WILL need to tweak it a bit.
I love the Southern American accent. Please don't call the English accent the British accent though cos it's called the English accent and if you call it the British accent or English people British then you kind of offend the Welsh, Scots and the English all at the same time! You're doing well and you seem like a really sweet person...keep up the practice! x
There's no such thing as an "English" accent either, unless you want to stereotype us all under the "posh version". And there are a lot of people who say "castle" the way that it was said first in the video.
Mine's a "farmer" one - try saying water as "war-ah". XD
@FamusJamus42 How did I offend Ireland? Didn't say there was such thing as a 'standard' English accent - you are obviously looking into this one a little deeper than I was...love the 'farmer's' accent!
@rosepink135 please enore what i said befor about you were being rude lol i was talking rubbish that was a great attempt lol <3 xx :) no hard feelings?
not everyone in Britain talks like that , Im british , and when i watch american programs they all to the "accent" like that , and it just annoys me because only 1 part of britain speaks like that , britain has tonnes just like america.
but overall I like your british accent you actually suit it :) xx
that was pretty good! I'm english and americans are usually rubbish at doing our accents and they seem to think we are all posh but hardly anyone is haha and btw you know for the world glass it depends where ur from cos up north they say glass with the a like how you say apple lol (only way i can describe it) but for southerners like me :) we say glarss
As a British/Welsh person I have to say you were really good but we have loads of accents in Britain its not one standard accent I mean Britain has 4 countries England, Wales where I'm from, Scotland and Northern Ireland and again each of those countries has loads of accents so there is no British accent but you did good so keep trying.
The accent varies around the country, where i'm from people say glass like gl-ar-ss, but my grandparents who are from the north say glass like gl-a-ss.
I'm a little disappointed - I was hoping you'd be awful but you weren't. I think I find a sort of perverse, narcissistic amusement in watching other people imporsonate my way of speaking, BADLY.
Anyway, you're very good, 10/10. The only thing that gave it away was the word 'not'. You're too careful about pronouncing the 't' at the end. English people, even posh ones, tend to slur it out. Other than that, I'm very impressed.
shes from london, its not how many people sound plus she sounds quite posh for an english person, in nothern england manchester liverpool chester newcastle e.g you wanna hear a funny accent search for a scouse (liverpool) accent

very good attempt Rose. i think you already speak in a nice neutral accent. Catle @ 1.06 is good but you should use less "o" and more "r" as in "car sel" but ur 90% there. 1.14, 1.20

Of course there is no such thing as a British accent...
There are a number of various English accents, Scottish accents, Welsh accents and Irish accents, but no such thing as a British accent.

Why do you want to speak with an English/British accent anyway? The first time I went to the USA, I hid mine through fear of attack, lol!

@MrLuckyyellowsocks
Because. British English is the real one like in my country is Spanish (Spain)
Latinamerican's Spanish is not the same...
and because some people like British accent. That's it
