If it is a land living/digging species we talking Aabout it sound wery stange. I can see my tigers in the water area almost everyday short periods of time, usually after feeding or when i mist the tank. Is it a tiger you have? if not wich species?
Well i have some woodlice that helps me a bit. And as fast i can go out and collect leaves, when this damn snow i gone, i will do a hole change of all substrate and moss. But only one change so far since last year.
Who cares if they're wild ferns. People have given me crap for years about using wild moss and plants. Some times it's better to use them because of all the micro-fauna in them. And they usually dont die like most of the dried mosses you buy from stores. Looks Awesome Man!!
i diden´t have the strength to answer mr "dicktonaryzzzz" It must be a full time jobb for you there, warn peple from collect furnishing outside he. And wy just mentione plants? you can if so even get mites/parasites from branches and leaves. Only some cleaning before and you are good to go..
I have never in my life had any probleme with either moss, leaves, plants and, well branches/bark ect. Collected over 2 sq.m.moss this year and haven´t seen anything suspicious.
@BIGLosa23 collecting things from the wild is just not right. You could accidently be collecting an endangered species of moss or fern. Most people would say whats the big deal its just a plant. Well the big deal is that everything in nature has a part. A role they must fulfill to ensure that everything else can survive. If we continue to break that inlocking chain of connections we will soon meet our own fate.
@dictionaryzzz First of all, that is an amazing setup, and if you were really worried about the environment and nature you wouldn't be commenting on this video. go look up "Rare Sumatran Tiger Caught on tape." The deforestation of Asia would probobly affect the world more than taking a couple wild ferns, that is, considering more than 1/10 of the worlds forests are there.
Yea, that is a great setup. However it looks like you collected wild ferns, which is not a good thing to do. There could be small parasites like mites hinding amongst the leaves. I would recommend a cultivated variety.
Wow, riktigt snyggt!

@dictionaryzzz Those ferns shown here are not endangered, and you are overspeculating. From my knowladge they are Ostrich Ferns. Pretty common.
