  • what month was that made my dad was working on groote that year. i moved there in may 1996 with my family and left oct 7 2006. bloody loved the place i miss it to bits

  • How neat to see the island again and see how much it has changed since I worked there in 1968-69. Also, the rock paintings. Donnie Blitner took a group of us up there one Sunday to see them. As I understand it, the first Europeans to see those paintings were the members of a National Geographic expedition in 1928. I still have a photo of me on the same lookout, with the crusher - a lot smaller back then - in the distance.

  • @MarsFKA Great to hear from you. Pity I did not make a great video, but time was short and I had work to do on the week that I was there. I have worked all over Australia and the Pacific. Just did a job ate the HWE run operation near Whyalla. Very different of course, but mine sites are interesting places. I work on comms systems.

  • @MarsFKA Donnie Blinter. i used to call him uncle donnie. wow i havent heard that name in years honestly. brings back so many memories that man. he used to take us camping fishing and exploring when i was a kid in 1998 onwards. miss the joint though
