VERY COOL. I WAS THINKING ABOUT BUYING A BATTERY JUMPER, BUT NOT I AM JUST GOING TO CARRY A BAG OF POTATOES , SOME WIRE AND NAILS. AND MAYBE BY THE TIME I GET HOME, THE POTATOES WILL BE READY
@poopsiclesss the color of the wire doesn't matter. All you have to do is make sure you get the connections between the copper wire and the galvinized zinc nails right
TheTimmayProductions why dont u make a video , and i will be willing to see what can do mr.all knowing .?Since u think u know everthing. huh.. do something to respond this video. otherwise, shut ur ass u fucker..
u r such a dumbass it's zinc nails not sinc nails, also u say, "in this video I manage to power a clock with nothing but two potatos." FALSE!!! u used zinc nails wire and a clock stupid
yes but sometimes it doesn't work the same. but If you use very good conducting bare wire it should work. However, those leads that I used which you can buy at Radio Shack is guaranteed to work for this project.
"What the deuce is it to me?" he interrupted impatiently: "you say that we go round the sun. If we went round the moon it would not make a pennyworth of difference to me or to my work." Sherlock Holmes "A Study in Scarlet"
Well first of all o wise one, you don't buy the potatoes in a macgyver situation u just happen to have them. Secondly u are the only one I have ever come across who claims that science has nothing to do with the production of batteries. You are truely intelligent.
Thanks guys for the good comments. I hope you all get an A+ if you are doing this for a project. Also I've never tried it myself but theoretically other vegetables should work as well using the same process. Good luck!
You don't cut the potatoes in half. I checked every source of a potato clock and it never said any thing about cutting it in half. So you are wrong. That is why it's not working.
Let me know what steps you took and the type of clock you used. I specifically said to use an led digital clock. Yes it must be digital and it must use only one triple A battery. An analog clock will not work.
i did everything you sed to do and i used a Digital clock that i got from radioshack that takes one double-A battery. i did everything u sed... well anyway its ok i completed what i needed to do (even though it didnt work xD)
without the necessary electrodes, you would not be able to draw any power. However, instead of the ones I used, you could just theoretically jam the leads into the potatoes and see if that works. Now don't tell me u don't need wires cause that just wouldn't be possible.
Jackson..."your comment is so lame and retarted." Its obviously not about the electricity. so I dont care about "F"reakinging batteries. The point is to improvise in that kind of situation where u don't have batteries.

@apocalypse5656 Clearly, you are a fanaticist for accurate names. Google leads (electronics) and you will find ones with clips.

Tom Howard: Do you know anything about clocks, mr. McNaughton?
Harry McNaughton: Clocks? Oh rather, yes. We have the cutest potato clock at our house.
Tom Howard: Well maybe... [taken aback] you have a eh a potato clock??
Harry McNaughton: Every morning it wakes us a potato clock.

would it work on an analogue clock?

Unfortunately in my experience I have found that this project only works on clocks that run on a single AAA battery.
Rodecpt0 2 years ago
ok thank you.

that sucks
tomtomthepieguy 2 years ago
wait. . .does it HAVE to be triple A batteried powered? cuz I'm using my alarm clock
Averyrox333 2 years ago
u can try to use it but I am saying it HAS to be a single triple A battery powered lcd digital clock
if u dont meet the requirement u have a big chance of failing.
good luck

Aha! I seemed to have identified your problem. Assuming you followed my directions precisely insofar as setting up the potatoes I specifically said a
TRIPLE A clock not DOUBLE A see the difference in power is great. get youself a clock that uses one triple A battery and it should work.
Rodecpt0 3 years ago
thats what i meant to type-- sry! i meant triple A. i used a tripple A and it still didnt work ^_^

You need to many materials. You would more likely have a battery than 2 galvanized nails, cooper wires, and leads.
If you could get rid of the nails and the copper, you might have something interesting.
