The ONLY thing we hear in hip hop these days is anger, violence, revenge, drugs, pus*y, guns.. This is filth, I dont understand how people call it music. When I hit play on a hip hop youtube video, I want to be calmed, fulfilled, satisfied. Not stuffed with anger and hate, that brings people no joy. What happened to intellectual hip hop, with an uplifting tune and rapping that makes you happy? Sure there's also a time for fast paced angry rap.. But that's ALL people listen to anymore. Hip hop/rap is more than just art to please the masses, it's art that's there to help artists to use as an outlet of emotion. Anger and hate helps others too, since it makes the musical identifiable and relatable. Why do u think eminem has touched many lives even though he spews anger. I love intelligent raps too, but ur being a little narrow minded here.

But what I don't think you are realizing is how today, almost all of the music we hear in that genre, is categorized as this "violence and pain" rap. In the 1990s, we had intelligent hip hop. Today we have almost none of it being produced. When you see it in this aspect, It's not just a different type of hip hop. It's a cultural change. This is low class America's new form of music.
