so if you follow the rules like you me gluse SeeGreaginatorRun captionelevator then there will be no problem you could get stuck but not die or get ingered. I think elevators are safer than stairs and escalators because you can slip on steps. What would you do if your in an elevator and it drops. I would think its fun because I loved tower of terror in Disney
well its not like terror tower. if it broke it would slow down when it impacts but u will have some injury. brakes are not that reliable see its like a parachute u never know if it works or doesnt.
the one advantage on hydralic elevators is that its impossable to drop in free fall even though traction elevators are equiped with safty feathers its possable for it to drop but the brakes will kick in and if it fails then the springs at the bottom will slow it down and reduce inpact I think elevators are safer than a car because a car can car can crash an elevator is unsafe if you try to open the doors your self or climb through the door in the roof when your stuck if you follow the rule
That's actually not true. Hydraulic elevators made before 1973 are dangerous, because if the cylinder fails the car simply falls. The brakes might work, but there's no guarantee.
Oh so traction is accauly safer I know for sur that the montgomery elevator at the JCPenny monroville mall was built in the 1969 when were hydralic elevators invented? I always liked traction better because of there speed. The garage elevator at the butler hospital did a very simaral thing to what this one did when it was going down its also a dover it did this in October and I was riding alone there are to elevator next to each other the one that I rode broke down recently the ohter one works
ran out again. Anyways the one that wasnt broken works compleatly fine I was too afraid to ride it so I didnt get in its glass so I pressed the button and ranout and then watch it go up pressed the button again and watch it come back down and it worked Im not afraid to ride it now so I will and get a video there hydralic

there is an elevator in a new shopping centre near me and it only serves 2 floors and its a traction! Its a glass one too and must be one of those Kone or Otis machine room-less ones as you can see the motor and the cables in the shaft.
The oil levels are probably fine, since Emory has an elevator mechanic on-site, however it is in bad need of a new motor. They should just close it, since the same lot is served by 4 other traction elevators.

Occasionally, but elevator accidents are extremely rare. My main concern, especially with a hydraulic elevator that serves such a distance, is the groundwater pollution that can occur when the cylinder leaks.
why did you press 2 if you wanted to get off at 3 and you get stuck and the alarm doesnt work would it be ok to use your cell phone and diel 911 or could you get in trouble?

The problem is that hydro elevators made before 1973 have no failsafe devices, so if the cylinder bursts, the car will simply fall downwards.
musicfreakcc 3 years ago
the cylinder can fail since it is very thin and the elevaotr is on top of it and much heavyer
patricknedz 3 years ago
@musicfreakcc it still wont free fall.
dieselducy 1 year ago
@musicfreakcc some states are requiring those to be updated with a new jack or safety device.

Oh my. I hope the cylinder wasn't about to go bust, but I think this elevator is in dire need of modernization.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
That was the noise that made this elevator a death trap.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
The popping while going down, yes. It felt like it was coning from the cylinder.
musicfreakcc 3 years ago
around 00:19 I heard that noise while you were waiting for it to come
patricknedz 3 years ago
I know and then he had to get off early it would scare me too
patricknedz 3 years ago
Note 1-Maybe it's low on oil, and needs a new motor.
Note 2-Modernize to traction, since it's more reliable, and less prone to failure.
Note 3-This is equally loud as the King Of Prussia Macy's elevator.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago

I don't know, maybe they should go with traction elevators in all the buildings.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
they should since its faster and serve tal buildings but do hydralic brake down more than traction?
patricknedz 3 years ago
Yes, that's rare, but the elevators at UT Austin Parking Garage #1 goes up 8 floors, and is hydraulic.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
That is quite amazing! Why wouldn't they just use a traction elevator?
musicfreakcc 3 years ago
because they proberly dont want to spend all there money on traction. traction is better its faster and everything
patricknedz 3 years ago
Maybe it's because it's hydraulic, and they don't serve above 6 floors.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
Yes, I have heard of some that serve 8, but that's extremely rare.
