  • It's time to modernize these elevators...with a traction elevator!

  • CHICKEN!!!!

  • dover sucks

  • Very interesting elevator Southeastern, elevator motoring might be there have fan of air of old machine something???

  • Hydraulics always seem more scary descending vs. ascending

  • Sounds like Chewbacca lol!

  • its labeled with both letters and numbers. also those noises indicate malfunction.

  • any of yall in the business ?

  • That lift has some VERY old Epco Circleline fixtures. 1970's probably.

  • a sign of Dover quality: this is the first video that comes up when you search "Dover elevator" on youtube

  • I liked it..Check mines out....Careers100 go to "Elevator Pitch"

  • This was re-branded by Fucklechia Elevator

  • what is Fucklechia Elevator?

  • It's an elevator with the words "FUCK" in it. Get the point?

  • @dea41396returns Dan, we all know... It's a DOVER!

  • sure it is funny when you got at d,it started to slip, making you press a,b and c.

  • this elevator would scare the crap out of me! if i got stuck, i would call for random help, and probably just sit their playing with mmy ipod touch. i would still probably freak out though!

  • Why do you have to make a comment like that? Musicfreakcc is not an idiot! We enjoy filming elevators whether it's a deathtrap or not!

  • WOW, that motor sounds just like my video of the glass elevator at Roosevelt Field on the left side!

  • ummm.. wats ur point?

  • What Does The Red Sign Say?

  • Maximum Capacity = 5 persons,

Elevator may stall between floors if capacity exceeds limit

  • dude FUKKK YOUUU WATT THE FUKKKK R UU DOING RIDINNN ELEVATORS FOR NOTHING YOU FUKING DORKKK FUKKKK... P E O P L E REALYYYYYYYYYYY HAV NOOOOOOO LIFEEEEEEEEE

  • Well, I think maybe you have less of a life then we do. We might seem like nerds, but we don't clutter Youtube with spam, and we don't think you should either. Difference may not be the most pleasant thing in the world, but if you can't deal with it, then maybe you should seek some REAL help. Also, if you don't think you need professional help, then remember that posting offensive comments can get you banned. I've seen a lot of people banned because of that. You can't be lucky forever!

  • itll take you 2 minute just to get down

  • As with a lot of Dovers, this one is sloooooooow.

  • musicfreakcc i spammed grooverider ass

  • boringggggggg!!!!!! boring boring BORING!!!

  • OOOO I got to see the piston thing!

  • Could you retake this I dont like the sound

  • He won't do that just for you.

  • your right, that schindler does want to be this elevator.

  • Won't ever get as bad I bet. Schindler is normally pretty good.

  • what do you mean by slip?

  • Funny, both of the deathtrap elevators are Dovers. :P

  • had to be bad to make YOU get off!

  • also i noticed something: WARNING: 6 ADULTS (light weight elevator)

  • Yeah, most of those elevators have placards warning people that the elevator can stop if overweight.

  • @joshua8790 WARNING : 8 ADULTS

  • almost as loud as the montgomery at the woodlands mall yet not as SCaRy

  • sorry I need to continue on a new comment.

so if you follow the rules like you me gluse SeeGreaginatorRun captionelevator then there will be no problem you could get stuck but not die or get ingered. I think elevators are safer than stairs and escalators because you can slip on steps. What would you do if your in an elevator and it drops. I would think its fun because I loved tower of terror in Disney

  • well its not like terror tower. if it broke it would slow down when it impacts but u will have some injury. brakes are not that reliable see its like a parachute u never know if it works or doesnt.

  • The problem is that hydro elevators made before 1973 have no failsafe devices, so if the cylinder bursts, the car will simply fall downwards.

  • the cylinder can fail since it is very thin and the elevaotr is on top of it and much heavyer

  • @musicfreakcc it still wont free fall.

  • @musicfreakcc some states are requiring those to be updated with a new jack or safety device.

  • the one advantage on hydralic elevators is that its impossable to drop in free fall even though traction elevators are equiped with safty feathers its possable for it to drop but the brakes will kick in and if it fails then the springs at the bottom will slow it down and reduce inpact I think elevators are safer than a car because a car can car can crash an elevator is unsafe if you try to open the doors your self or climb through the door in the roof when your stuck if you follow the rule

  • That's actually not true. Hydraulic elevators made before 1973 are dangerous, because if the cylinder fails the car simply falls. The brakes might work, but there's no guarantee.

  • Oh so traction is accauly safer I know for sur that the montgomery elevator at the JCPenny monroville mall was built in the 1969 when were hydralic elevators invented? I always liked traction better because of there speed. The garage elevator at the butler hospital did a very simaral thing to what this one did when it was going down its also a dover it did this in October and I was riding alone there are to elevator next to each other the one that I rode broke down recently the ohter one works

  • The hydraulic elevator was invented in the late 1800's, after the traction elevator.

  • ran out again. Anyways the one that wasnt broken works compleatly fine I was too afraid to ride it so I didnt get in its glass so I pressed the button and ranout and then watch it go up pressed the button again and watch it come back down and it worked Im not afraid to ride it now so I will and get a video there hydralic

  • Hydraulic elevators do not usually have overspeed governors.

  • there is an elevator in a new shopping centre near me and it only serves 2 floors and its a traction! Its a glass one too and must be one of those Kone or Otis machine room-less ones as you can see the motor and the cables in the shaft.

  • Very nice!

  • Oh my. I hope the cylinder wasn't about to go bust, but I think this elevator is in dire need of modernization.

  • That was the noise that made this elevator a death trap.

  • The popping while going down, yes. It felt like it was coning from the cylinder.

  • around 00:19 I heard that noise while you were waiting for it to come

  • I know and then he had to get off early it would scare me too

  • Note 1-Maybe it's low on oil, and needs a new motor.

Note 2-Modernize to traction, since it's more reliable, and less prone to failure.

Note 3-This is equally loud as the King Of Prussia Macy's elevator.

  • The oil levels are probably fine, since Emory has an elevator mechanic on-site, however it is in bad need of a new motor. They should just close it, since the same lot is served by 4 other traction elevators.

  • what was that noise while you were going down?

  • It started popping.

  • what was popping mabe the guide rails were getting stuck

  • The oil levels are probably fine, since Emory has an elevator mechanic on-site, however it is in bad need of a new motor. They should just close it, since the same lot is served by 4 other traction elevators.

  • how offten do hydralic elevators go wrong?

I think the macys elevator at king of prussia is louder but the one in king of prussia gets louder then it gets quiet again and I think its gone

  • Occasionally, but elevator accidents are extremely rare. My main concern, especially with a hydraulic elevator that serves such a distance, is the groundwater pollution that can occur when the cylinder leaks.

  • maby the motor is low on hydralic oil

  • prehaps it needs new motors

  • I remember riding on an old Montgomery "Globe and Parallelograms" glass hydraulic elevator that was noisy and I liked it very much!

  • I don't know, maybe they should go with traction elevators in all the buildings.

  • they should since its faster and serve tal buildings but do hydralic brake down more than traction?

  • Yes, that's rare, but the elevators at UT Austin Parking Garage #1 goes up 8 floors, and is hydraulic.

  • That is quite amazing! Why wouldn't they just use a traction elevator?

  • because they proberly dont want to spend all there money on traction. traction is better its faster and everything

  • Maybe it's because it's hydraulic, and they don't serve above 6 floors.

  • Yes, I have heard of some that serve 8, but that's extremely rare.

  • no he did a video of this elevator before it didnt sound like that

  • the motor sounds kewl in a way. i dunno y but it is.

  • I like that motor but it shouldnt sound like that check out the king of prusssia macys elevator its really loud

  • How come this one doesn't serve the roof?

  • No idea.

  • otis is the best company for machine room elevators and thyssen krupp is good for machine room less elevators

  • if my elevator was loud i would want a refund

  • The elevator is very old.

  • if u owned it would u sue them?

  • The company actually does not exist. Southeastern elevator was a distributor for Dover, which was bought by ThyssenKrupp.

  • sounds like the death trap one in woodfield mal il in shamburg

  • if that was my elevator and it was new and made that noise they would get sued

  • if my elevator was that loud i would sue them

  • I bet you never want to ride this ever agian

  • yes

  • you would ride it again or not

  • there's an elevator at northpark mall that does that same thing

  • why did you press 2 if you wanted to get off at 3 and you get stuck and the alarm doesnt work would it be ok to use your cell phone and diel 911 or could you get in trouble?

  • I would actually call 411, and get Emory Police.

  • sorry I hit post comment by acsedent anyways the east wing of the court house in an older schindler because I jumped and it stoped and started to ding continuesly for 15 sec it scared the hell out of me but Ive never been stuck for even a minet before but I wonder what I would do what would you do?

  • Press the alarm button and if that doesn't work, call security.

  • would you panic and what would you do while your waiting for someone to come?

  • Nah, nothing to worry about. Personally, I would just get some work done on my laptop while waiting.

  • I never bring my laptop with me but if I get stuck I hope I have my video camera with me so I can get it on Youtube there realy isnt nothing to worry about I just wont kow what would happen

  • What would you have done if you had goten stuck I had never been stuck before and dont know what I should do if I got stuck some times when I go to ride an elevator when the door opens Im afraid to step in bbecause it looks like a death trapor its been acting odd one time I almost got stuck in the east wing at the

  • what would you have done if it got stuck would you still upload it to youtube?

  • Oh yeah!

  • what did that sign say on the first floor on the door

  • Each floor is named after a different kind of bird.

  • why are theyy each named after a bird is that why theres letters?

  • No idea

  • do all garages have windows in the machine room like how you can see the moter?

  • All of the elevators at this parking garage at Emory have visible motor rooms, except the Schindler Traction and also the Dover staff elevators.

  • What happened to the elevator between that time and the old film of it?

  • I don't know.

  • Ive done that before in a garage elevator it was doing some odd things while it was going down so I got off at 3 it was 5 storys and was slow

  • thats not the loudest elevator ever ride the macys plaza elevator at king of prussia that is very loud

  • that is a scary elevator but its not as bad as the elevator at a garage in butler its worse it feels like its going to stop in the middel going up and down slow doors flikering lights decreasing speed shaky was not oiled when it should have been no certificate the elevator call buttons cancel them self out and the elevator stops at a floor and does not open till hit the button again

  • Get a video of that one please. I want to see this.

  • ok but I dont know when I will go there mayby some time this week

  • I went there and I got afraid to get in Ill go again because its a scary elevator but if it gets stuck then it would be funny to watch on youtube

  • thats the scariest elevator ride ive seen on youtube yet hope all your elevator rides are alot better than that

  • This is even worse than the Montgomery death trap elevator.

  • Why didnt you video the Dover elevator?

  • It's being uploaded, please wait.
