  • what is the song on 3:24-4:00 ?

  • 4:41 - 4:28 wow... made me smile and.. breath! eheh :)

  • I can't tell the difference between "Ice Blue" and "Lake Placid Blue"

  • STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN !! <33333

  • srv at the beginning <3

  • I've got love for Gibson, but nothing looks hotter than a relic Strat.

  • The tones of my dreamssssss..... wow

  • CASTLES MADE OF SAND!!! :D

  • 4:58 Walter's Walk! That might be the first time I've ever heard anyone cover that song. Nice job!

  • do you have to pay for the guitar to come through customs to the UK?

  • @45eelz

they eliminate the need for string trees on the headstock, which increases sustain and keeps tuning when you use the vibrato arm.

  • tightrope!!!

  • I have one question. I am from Poland and I want to order guitar from your shops, Do you have international shipping?

If so, what is the price of shipment guitar to the Polish. Of course, the guitar below 900$

I cant find this information on the website.

    Sorry for my bad english

  • @Alex14943 When you add a guitar to the shopping cart, you can calculate shipping there. We ship worldwide everyday! Thank you,

    -PGS

  • :20,almost had the SRV sound, but come on man you need 13s on that beast! :P

  • so where do i buy the custom shop guitars

  • @BrittonDeJong try proguitarshop(dot)com!

  • what a geek

  • @beeeastmaster Fuck off...

  • what is the output of the pickups?

  • what are staggered tuners?

  • Dear santa....

  • @TheOneTheyCallRyYan

I would contend that the sounds this strat puts out are more "classic" as strats go than "unique," no?

  • Great Frickin' Strat tone!

  • i think andy is one of the best guitars iv ever herd, i dont even watch the vids for the gear any more just to here him play, hahah

    good job bro

  • You know what Andy. One day when I have 50 million dollars in the bank. I'm gonna buy a huge extension to my house, then buy one of everything inside PGS because everytime I hear you play, the sound of the guitar and pedals and everythign else you use, sound amazing.

  • ANDY you rocks!!

  • CASTLES MADE OF SAND FTW!!!!!!!

  • Very unique sounds from a Strat here.

  • I love the guitar, but I hate the whole relic nonsense. I hope the fad goes away soon.

  • hi, what gauge stings do you run on that beast?

  • @71LCC - Andy usually rolls with .10's, sometimes .11's.

    -PGS Crew

  • @habsfan170

It's not so much the tuners in their tuning ability (i.e. gear ratio) that's helpful, but their staggered posts that eliminate the need for a string tree, which is just another point of tension on the string to hamper its movement.

  • charly sheen? i like your hair like that dude.. good playing as always

  • beautiful sound!

  • Will the Classic Players 60's strat get tones at least similar to this?

  • @Ibanezguy123456789 Yes, I prefer the classic series though.

  • what music is this ?

  • @ran123br well I don't know exactly, but Andy played some Eric Johnson licks, and Castle made of Sand by Jimi Hendrix.

  • and tightrope-SRV in the beginning

  • Andy, you forgot to play a BuzzCocks song! Oh, wait, that's a bassman.....you only play BuzzCox through vox amps and effectrode pedals.....sorry for the misunderstanding.

  • Andy, you're great.

  • 4:11 .. beautiful 50's sound...

  • Some of the best pickups Ive EVER heard.man i need some abby wound pups.

  • B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L.

  • There's no pages written about this series of guitars on the official website of Fender Custom Shop.

Is this kind of gtrs can only get @ PGS?

'Cause I live in Japan, I am very curious about the new production line.

  • Yep, Total Tones are a PGS exclusive.

  • Great tone, great guitar!

  • I hoped that he plays with the Fender Hot Rod deluxe at the left side- because I own this ampand I try to get the same tone with my Strat- but I fail :(((((...

  • Nope. We used the Fender Custom Shop Tweed Twin. In most videos the amp we're recording is stage right, and the microphone is usually visible.

  • @AirMike61 Can you tell me what kind of microphone you use to record from the amp? that is a great sound. I Have a reale vintage 65 super reverb and everytime that i record it doesn't sound the way it sound live!!

  • @LouTheBlues - Royer R121 is the microphone. Thanks!

    -PGS

  • @LouTheBlues pgs has a vidio where they tell you the whole process and everything

  • Which Amp do you use for this vid??

  • @AirMike61 It looks like a tweed covered fender deville 4x12

  • love the scale and sound at 2.40.. looove it! awesome guitar.

  • was he playing castles made of sand by henrix?

  • @MultiRocker93 Yes, it's castle made of sand!

  • please excuse my ignorance, but what song does he play right at the beginning of the video?

  • he reminds me of the preist from gran torino

  • 2:28-2:30 kinda sinds like white summer/black mountain side

  • great strat and sound ;)

  • has a sort fo eric johnson sound i like it i wish i could afford that

  • What kind of mic are they using? Some sort of Ribbon I think?

  • Royer R121

  • Thats what I thought! Thank you very much

  • please donate this guitar for the good cause to Aipom777

  • Is Andy always playing without a pick?

    a plectro

  • Yes

  • hey andy, a video review of a total tone tele would be awesome : )

  • It would be amazing if you guys could do this without the distressed finish. Not that it doesn't look cool, but I'd rather play my guitars for a lifetime and have it look like that. Awesome tone though!

  • wow i totaly fell in love with this strat its awesome what a tone and the look is icecold beautiful

  • so what would you pay for that guitar??:D nobody can afford that :-D

  • definitely a relief to see a guitar/gear reviewer that's not just a "crank it to 11 and shred" kind of guy. While I've got nothing against the shred heads out there, you learn alot more about the guitar hearing it clean, overdriven, and played various ways than just the straight forward distort and shred.

  • Exactly.

  • what amp/pedals are used from 2:10 to 3:00

  • Which overdrive pedal do you use for the first 45 seconds of the video ? Thanks !

  • Rockbox Boiling Point

  • wow that pedal is so natural that I thought you only had the amp cranked!

  • shit man that strat sounds awesome!

  • So, as nolan83 said, You know all guitar licks! ;-)

I really like Your demos, they are so useful....and incredibly well done!

You say: Thank You for watching....... I say: Thank You for playing.

  • So, Andy...Did you sell your soul to the devil for the ability to play ANY guitar lick ever written? I love the demos, thanks for the details.

  • walkin the tightrope. stevie ray!

  • Amazing tone!!!!!!!

How much does that guitar weight?

I MUST HAVE A BUNCH OF THOSE!!!!!!!!

  • These look killer. I love the feel of those relic'd necks. I saw some of those Abigail Ybarra hand wound pickups go for $900 recently on eBay.

  • what song is played in the background at 1:00?

  • Amazing tone.

  • sounds insane...

  • castles made of sand:)

  • Hey I was wondering what mic is that you are using? Thanks.

  • looks like a Royer-121

  • Yep.

  • Factory strings usually. Otherwise we tend to favor d'Addarios.

  • amazing tone

  • Walters Walk is definitely the coolest Zeppelin riff that no one has ever heard of.

    Man I love that riff...

  • @Al112987 Walter's Walk is definately some kick ass riffs. The song at the end of the recording, that nobody knows.

  • Wow..the guitar and your playing andy makes me smile ^^ awesome!!

  • it annoys me how pgs focuses mainly on fender, and i know they have a few gibson demos but overall about 95% of their videos are fender based, they do good reveiws but the reason i prefer guitar world is because they are more diverse in their guitar ranges ie fender, prs, washburn, epiphone

  • @leddeath80 People do not realize that we are actually a pretty small company. We only carry three guitar lines, and those are all that you will see us demo. We use a Les Paul in a good portion of our pedal videos thoug. Guitar World get's paid to make videos for whatever manufacturer approaches them. How many pedal videos does Guitar World do? They do their thing, we do ours.

  • thats true, yeah i suppose i didn't know u guys weren't as big as i thought, but yeah u guys are right about the face GW doesn't focus much on pedals

  • F-in love this guitar and the demo,

F-in hate the 4000 dollar price tag =/

  • I would kill for that guitar...

    ....worryingly I'm not joking =S

  • @mjwoodworth

There are many easier ways to get 4,000 dollars..

  • Such as...?

    I'm intrigued!

    haha

  • @telperionflower

Yeah but I think old mjw would enjoy it ...... in fact he'd probably do it even if it didn't result in getting the guitar.

  • Love "Walters Walk" at the 5:00 minute mark--very cool Andy!!

Great Strat! Could do w/o the 'relic'.

  • wow, that tremolo is unbelievable - stays in tune amazingly. Although I think a good setup is a major key to keeping the trem in tune... do the tuners really make that much of a difference?

  • perhaps the nicest guitar i've ever heard

  • Is there a paticular reason that you test fender strats with Fender amps? I love to see you introduce a Fender Guitar or G&L Guitar using a Marshall Vintage Modern or maybe a Mesa Boogie. To truely show the Fender Strats versatily

  • Andy almost always uses Fender amps into his demos... I think they're both good sounding and neutral. Maybe a Marshall or a Mesa Boogie amp would be too much invasive.

  • He uses the AC30HH with many G&L demos.

  • Do you plan on ever releasing these in a non-beaten finish anytime soon?

  • SRV- Tightrope what a tuuuuune

  • Its's a nice guitar and has a nice tone but I don't like guitars that are already beaten up. A guitar needs to earn it's dents and cracks over time.

  • my thoughts exactly, i believe that a guitar should always be left to age due to normal use, that way, the wear is 100% authentic

  • I checked the PGS website yesterday, and they did have some Total Tone Teles with no "relic" treatment. :) cool!! (and cheaper too).

  • @XanderMaas

    who gives a fuck

  • Could i have the same tone with new look, i'd order one right now from Italy

  • That sounds great, it really does. I've been a PRS/Humbucker guy for a while now but this makes me want to add a start to my collection.

  • dang that strat has the perfect tone

  • The amp is a Custom Shop 57 Tweed Twin.

  • Looks amazing, I'd really like to see the demo made with the Deluxe Reverb.

  • THANKS FOR THE CASTLES MADE OF SAND MAN! made my day.. :)

  • LED ZEPPELIN in the end of the video!!!

  • SRV and Castles Made of Sand, all in one demo? WOOT!

  • they have dadario strings ! the best strings ever \m/ u can see that when they show the back of the bridge the colours of the string balls are the ones dadario uses :P

  • I think strings are personal preference. I always thought dadario felt like rubber bands. Ernie ball 10's or hybrids are the best in my eyes.

  • My trademark saying is:

    Too Lovely

    enough said.....

  • not the biggest fender fan due to a few i have had that had really let me down but these custom shop models have amazing tone i would love to have one. Andy nice SRV at the begining.

  • G&L = Total Tone

  • my exact thoughts.. ere

  • I agree.

  • What amp are you using?

  • I think thats the Fender Tweed Deluxe

  • Looks like the Reissue Tweed Twin on the right.

  • These pickups really sound like a very good strat, I bet you could do a good SRV impersonation with a TS pedal and some heavier gauges. Great playing too...

  • Hats off! That is the best sounding strat ever! Not to mention the best sounding brigde pickup I heard through time!

  • oh man, that guitar sounds fantastic

  • And it's most likely going to be bought by some high-class collector who will just put it in some type of casing and never play it.

What I like a lot about Fenders though is, over the years pretty much they key components stayed the same. While Gibson released the worst idea to ever hit guitars--Tone chambers. Fender never did, swamp ash body, tummy cut, ect. So that's one thing I like a lot

But I like a more beefy tone in my guitars, so ...

  • you're right about the high class collector.i have a friend who has a rosewood telecaster and two signatures strat, and he never touch them as he prefers ibanez! damn

  • agreed. great guitar and a really crappy finish/degraded style. it seems that a true guitarist would want to "break" his own guitar in through time and use. so much tone inside, but it reads "poser" on the outside IMO.

  • Wow. Walter's Walk. What a Zeppelin choice.

  • Andy is my hero

  • no picks... no mercy!

  • He's such a great player he could make a Squire sound good... he's using real nice amps and mics though too which all help

  • yep I see a Royer R121 sitting in front of that amp...

  • well, yeah! if you spent as much time making demos as he does, you could too! He probably gets a hell of a lot of practice in from doing this stuff.

  • such a freaking sweet strat!!!

  • Definitely sounds a lot better than any regular strat.

  • of course but you could still build a better one yourself for thousands less :P

  • dang 62' ?

  • That bridge pickup sounds magnificent. And then there's the rest of them...

  • thanks for the castles made of sand, it always nice to Hendrix

  • Sounds like a really nice strat. Of course, I can't afford it...but oh well. Andy's playing was exceptionally tasteful in this vid as well. On a random note, I notice that during demos of trem equipped guitars, he almost always takes the arm off until he's actually demoing the tremolo.

  • :O ANDY USED A PIC! LOL

  • You can easily hear the difference in quality with this guitar!

  • That's a really great sounding guitar. I'd rather the guitar be new in look though... something about not wearing down a guitar yourself seems cheap.

But holy crap it sounds great.

  • whats the beginning song? it sounds familiar

  • tightrope by stevie ray vaughan

  • @jingwah tightrope by SRV

  • Stevie Ray Vaughan-Tightrope

  • nice

  • now thats a real Fender!

  • Andy makes me want to practice more...

  • if you had a tele model, then we'd be cooking wit gas
