  • I love the idea of using the same volt meter to check either the solar input voltage or the battery voltage from a single switch. Good job. As for the batteries being inside, you could easily build a wooden box, and vent the gasses to the outside.

  • I really hate to judge or preach... but those batteries are dangerous around the kids. when overcharged the batteries emmit oxygen and hydrogen, which is very explosive. look at the gassing effect. they should be in a vented to the outside non-conductive box. good luck to you.
