Brian Ferry's album 'Boys and Girls' is sheer genius! Every song falls deftly into place after the last one.....Even after 35 years it still holds it's value and context, it's smooth rhythm and closeness of the soul. EXCELLENT TALENT~*****!
Favourite from the day! The bass debate is interesting...I always believed I was hearing Marcus Miller's handy work with that super funky, slapping riff - yet I have to agree there are some sublime, deep roll-offs in there that are a signature Tony Levin sound. Is it possible that both gentlemen laid something down in the studio and bits of both contributions were used? I've had this album since it was released and I remember that - oddly - the listed artists are not linked to the tracks.
what a groove marcus miller bass, omar hakim drums and mark knopfler and dave gilmour guitars.nice and floaty tune from bryan.a quality album from 85'.
Does anyone know who played the bass on this track?
