For those of you that don't know, the guy next to theo in the studio is Omar s. These cats no how to throw it down on the decks. Thank you theo for the grooves over here in seattle last weekend!!
@bluemoon121 so true! It got even worse once I got the bug to start making music... between buying vinyl and music gear,... every red cent I have is spoken for.
couldn't be happier with the way things have turned out
They killing the Midwest Milwaukee Gray places like that ..And 20 years ago this was called the heartland hard work is at a all time low...I was seen as lazy in the midwest and i live in the Bay and I'm seen as a hard worker
The reason why some people stay with vinyl is, because they think vinyl IS better... it's not... Digital has the better numbers, but vinyl SOUNDS better because of the natural format and it's rounded acoustic character.
So vinyl sounds better, because it's natural. Digital just can't do that because digital is unnatural.
When a person talks to you it's natural, because the sounds coming out of his mouth are bend and rounded by things, for example, walls, tables, benches in the room you are sitting in.
That's analog... everything natural is analog. Hence the word "nature"
People need to stop talking crap about laptop dj......its called prosgression......with Serato you still play vinyl....its the cd dj's that aint authentic!!!!
that's just not true. anyway, look sorry... i'm not hating too hard... but its just not worth anyone's time comparing serato to vinyl. very few dj's use high enough quality files on their serato, and thats just a disgrace to the music. and when people say its about the music, not the format... yeah sure but really its about respecting the music and not making it sound like plastic.
I can see you're passionate and I really respect that pal, but people are moving on (dj's/producers) but they're will always be a small group that retains that elitist attitude towards vinyl - the sad truth is practicly every major dj IS using mp3 timecoded software.
The majority of people cant even hear the difference - sad but true.
If you like those, feel free to come visit my page. You'll find interviews of Kid Koala, Modeselektor, Amon Tobin, Josh Wink...and lots of other artists on stage...
Anyways thx for broadcasting this one I truly enjoyed !!!
You may want to look at using an old computer as a slave soft synth and plugin machine in the studio, using tools like Bidule from Plogue, Console, and Forte from BrainSpawn, as well as FX Teleport from FX-max. The idea looks swell to me.
Theo remindes me of Vladislav Delay but from Detroit,,, They both use real sounds and put them in the beat or ambience.jazz background Vlad has Theo not sure.
You can take a camera out of the box and get great video with natural light. It took me 5 years to be able to get great sound. Sound separates the men from the boys. Subconsciously the public thinks something is not good but can't say why. It's usually the sound.
I think theo composed that. Or she did she is pretty talented. It is probably the vocals for "sounds of the city" which will be the music for a marketing campaign for Adidas of Europe soon.
I did a brief interview with him for my podcast "Lx7#039 - Theo Parrish do it cause you're _____..." He's one of the artists I'm surprised hasn't had more focus on...
Interesting stuff, the whole found sounds thing is much like what people were doing with "Musique concrète" and industrial in the late 80s and early 90s.
There is a pretty good record store on 8 mile near greenfield. I'm really scratching around in my memory for the name ofthe place. it's in the video and it is upstairs in a building. i'll keep thinking although it can be painful
@nakotasun that's Rick Wilhite's Vibes New and Rare Music which is closed now, but there is a compilation in its honor selected by Rick (the big bald black dood in the shop in this video) on Rush Hour. it was one of the best shops for house music i've ever been to!

part 1.
Music on vinyl is natural.
Everything natural is live.
What makes music natural?
Even harmonics, makes music natural.
When a person talks to you it's natural, because the sounds coming out of his mouth are bend and rounded by things, for example, walls, tables, benches in the room you are sitting in.

the us goverment has started to wright information back on vinyl...Why because its the best format..
digital information 10101010 doesnt last as long it decays
If vinyl is looked after it can last a hell of a long time
