@brianacisna I haven't sent it in yet, I hate to have it mishandled and destroy the value. I don't want to sell it but I am not going to use it either. Kind of an heirloom for me now. Thanks for subbing btw.
@cyclist01222 I've seen similar knives on ebay for a few hundred dollars. I'm definitely holding on to it though. Not every day you get an 80 year old knife as a gift.
I have never had an issue with Case's Tru-Sharp, CV, or 1095. I can speak for those steels at least. What was the result did Case fix the blade as needed.
@MrRampro Unfortunately I haven't sent it in yet. As soon as I do and it returns I will post a video about it. Hopefully at the beginning of the year. Thanks for watching.
Case knives have a long history of quality workmanship. In the 1960s my brother became a missionary pilot in the jungles of South America and Africa. During his survival traning he carried a Case sheath knife. He was the only particpant in the team/class who had a sharp sturdy work knife. The knife served him well for many years. The Case knives I own have also done the job. trust Case XX. stonenstrop
@stonenstrop That's a great story! That's what makes these tools interesting, the experiences behind them and the trust put in them. Thanks for sharing.
@whatnotize Case uses ATS 34 in some of their blades; decent stuff, but a lot of their knives are made of Case's own crap "TruSharp Surgical Steel", which is absolute garbage; its essentially 420 HC, except without the great heat treat that Buck uses.
@RebelWrestler45 if you knew your ass from a hole in the ground you would know that the heat treat on buck 420 hc is far worse and crappy compared to trusharp. i'm a professional sharpener and i tell you now that true sharp does not roll over as easily as bucks 420hc.
@nutnspecial1 Are you kidding me? Paul Bos has THE best heat treatment in the industry. Buck's 420 HC isn't as hard as Case's trusharp crap, but it is FAR tougher. Trusharp suffers from carbide fallout during sharpening, and 420HC is also much more strop friendly. Professional sharpener my ass.
@RebelWrestler45 really? i just spent an hour on the phone with the guy in charge of heat treat. guess what? paul bos retired. it's a whole nother guy who just sets a machine to do the work. do the research. you're just some know it all who thinks he knows shit and doesn't. your opinion is biased. and i can sharpen a knife by hand better than any machine can do and split hairs with it, literally.
@nutnspecial1 Do you think Paul Bos heat treated every blade himself while he was working for Buck? Of course not, it's Paul's HT process that Buck uses. I'll put my Kramer in 52100 after Shapton pro's up to 15k, chromium oxide, and naked kangaroo leather up against anything you can produce.
Congratulations on the find.. I am heading over to the case website.. I am pretty sure I already have a couple .. but was not really aware of the lifetime warranty on them..
actually Spyderco is an American company, so even if you purchase "Made in China" Spydercos the only thing you leave to the Chinese is the shameful salary that spyderco paid to them.
"Lifetime warranty on Case knives which are MADE IN AMERICA. Buy quality American goods and help our slumping economy, not China's growing one." Amen, brother. And while this fine knife is worth keeping on a shelf, don't forget Case makes a ton of great user knives these days, including more and more in their killer CV (carbon) steel.
@SianReynolds Yeah I'm really liking their lineup now, especially the Mini CopperLock they have. Their genuine bone and stag handles are some of the best around. Thanks for watching.
Also, I WILL be getting a Springfield M1A in a little over 2 months, so I'll bring it up there when I bring the kids one day and we'll go do some long-range shooting.
Juan, I have 3 more days of class, then 168 hrs minimum with an FTO. Good job, just taking forever to get to where I can actually work. Do you still want my address? If you send me a box of turds or something I'm sending them back to you.
@FireArmsResQ No, you can only be snobby if you own the Spyderco Manix, Persistence, Tenacious, Delica, and Tactical Butt Plug with G-10. The last one is used to protect your "tactical butt hole" from tactical butt pirates. Nutn has two of these, I checked his page :P
Good song. Case used to make great knives, but I bought one about 5 yrs ago, and it was the 3-bladed stockman type knife. The short, sheep foot blade fuggin' bent when I was cutting a piece of plastic. I took it back to Weakley-Watson's sporting goods I'm Brownwood and they refused to give me a new one, they said that all Case knives are made in China now, or somewhere like that. Not here. That handle is stag horn, probably Sambar Stag. Good knife. China can suck it.
@jasonlfeaster Hey good to hear from you, how is the new gig going? That sucks about your knife, I always heard Case makes great ones. Sounds like that store gave you the run around. Mine is going back to the factory in Bradford, PA. Maybe the small ones are made in China, even some Buck knives are made there now. Nothing is sacred anymore i guess.
@jasonlfeaster No Case knife is made in China. If you're not happy with Case, btw, check out Great Eastern Cutlery. A little pricier, but they make GREAT knives in the U.S.
And for the price most of the worthwhile Cases are going for these days, you're damn near a beautiful GEC anyway.
Also, I still have and collect Cases here and there but I have to say that when I found out Zippo bought and owns the company since the 90's, it kinda turned me off.
Look out for Canal Street as well, the knives I have touched are gorgeous, American made cutlery. Plus I hear it's some of the boys from Schrade when they went under doing something quality.
@rage340 No problem. Actually it's kinda crazy you commented on this, I was just about to attach this as a vid response to your Made in America vid. Great minds think alike. Happy to share, thanks for watching.
@MyHollowpoint Neither did I. They responded to my e-mail quickly and answered all my questions with the little information I could provide. This is my first Case knife but won't be my last. They really impressed me, God bless America :)
@TacticalGunGuy Lol Spyderco's have so many different names for the same knife just in different sizes like the Persistence and Tenacious. The next smallest would probably be the Apathetic or the Indifference :P Background music is "Cliffs of Dover" by Eric Johnson. Thanks for watching!
@txmalcontent ....Cliffs of Dover, that's right. I have a couple more Spyderco names - Agnostic (for the multi-tool, can't decide what it wants to be when it grows up), and Malcontent (you'd have to licence that to them though).

Why can't I ever find anything like that??? Have you checked on its value? Sometimes having it cleaned/restored will lessen its worth.
