I saw them in '94 in Chapel Hill, and it remains one of my top five all time concerts. amazing. and she was wearing that same necklace, I'll never forget it. this totally gives me the chills.

@Whitetricycle I would like to thank Whitetricycle for filming this show and Comebackharriet for uploading, please I beg you if you have any more video material, please put it on youtube no matter what quality, we miss the band so much. I think I can safely say this is on behalf of all The Sundays fans.
for the Sundays being my favorite group of all time, I never got to see them live!!!!! at least I can see this, and put a performing face to that undeniable instrument of hers!!!!
Absolutely, positively awesome post comebackharriet!!!!!!!!!! I was lucky enough to have seen the Sundays twice. Once in LA and once at a small club in Chapel Hill, NC. Both occasions are unforgettable and I was totally sober! I long for the day they come back. Even for one tour. Thanks for this awesome post!
Absoutely positively priceless footage. I was lucky to have seen them twice. The first time in a small club in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I'll never forget those experiences and I was sober. Thanks for an awesome post comebackharriet.
PS. I'm dying for the moment they come back. Even for just one tour.
Was lucky enough to see this tour at The Supper Club in NYC, Dec '07... i just laughed and cried during the entire show because i was SO overwhelmed... this song in particular.... i was also extremely fortunate to see the Sundays first US performance in NYC, at The World (i think- 20 years ago)...... we were right at the stage and they played the entire first album, and then "Can't Be Sure" a second time- mind blowing... their reunion is something i hope and pray for regularly... 1 in a million
This was the last show of the Static & Silence tour after a grueling U.S. tour. She also had a 2-year old girl to take care of after the show. That's partly the reason why they gave up on music.
But even if they didn't tour, I really wish Harriet and David would just set up a website and sell some homemade CDs through it. I honestly would buy a CD of Harriet just talking about cats or anything else she wanted to talk about. Something incredibly soothing about her voice that I crave.
Agree. It would be interesting to hear what Harriet sounds like after all these years. Some singers don't reach their vocal prime till they get much older. Susan Boyle is practically the same age as Harriet, and she can sing most of these "singers" under the rug. And a young Harriet sounded more interesting than a young Boyle.
She has one of those childlike voices - could pass for someone twenty years younger. Her voice kinda reminds me of Snow White's, only more fullness and even pitch.
I was fortunate to see them in LA and this song in particular was surreal.. her voice Angelic.. resonated throughout the small concert hall.. the vibes in the room were electric I think everyone was in awe with the whole concert..listening to this now I still get chills. absolutely the best!! one of my fav groups of all time..I agree with most wish they would come out of hiatus and give their true fans just a taste of their brilliance once again...sigh...
I should feel so ashamed for learning about this amazing band only recently when they've long broken up by now.
I could listen to this song over and over on the album without getting tired, Harriet's voice put most wannabe "singers" of today's modern music to shame.
Her voice is amazing, it has a childlike quality to it, yet seems so powerful at the same time. Gavurin's guitar playing is stunning too. I loved this lot.
Just as good as I remember them live in Dublin in 1993.Superb band, superb albums and The greatest female vocalist since Dusty Springfield. The band are legends!!!
Hi Camille, yes, the bridge is a masterpiece and then she just backs off of the mic. as if nothing unusual happened. I've always felt sorry for singers, partly because I sing myself, and I know a little bit about how they have to put out. Bradly Delp from Boston - a phenominal singer committed suicide last year. And Clapton talked about his drug days in music when you finish a song and you need this instant nursing. I know all about that, but I don't know what it takes Harriet to soar like that.
hmmm... my only guess would be fulfillment. she's married her prince, she's got a wonderful family, she doesn't need the glam and fame offered by the rock lifestyle, so she parts with nothing to sound the way she does :)
SO EPIC! Thanks for this. :)

As the heavens shudder, baby, I belong to you!
They just seemed to nail it every time. A shame we don't have more than three perfect albums to muse over. Thrilling!
Just give me an easy life and a peaceful death, indeed.
