If a nuclear facility malfunctions like in prypiat where the chernobil reactor had a malfunction that caused it to explode you do not rebuild, you do not live there because any human dat lives in that regions will suffer radiation damage. So i don't see why on earth people would like to have nuclear energy.

@Joniversity i dont think you are aware that the gaza strip is practically an open air prison and therefore the people have no where to run when they are being bombed with white phosporous, secondly the people who lived in south lebbanon are civillians it dosent matter where they live they have a right to bodily integrity and a right to life. the jews under ariel sharon encouraged the massacre in the 1982 war against shatilla.

Gaza is not a 2X2 inch room. there are enough open areas in Gaza. Israel didn't bomb entire neighborhoods at once.

@freezen255 well to borrow your logic for a moment, warsaw is not a 2x2 inch room yet somehow the people who went to the camps never left for '''the open areas''' it was reported and filmed that a hospital was bombed as too were ambulances in gaza city during january 2009. most of the buildings and infrastructure attacked in lebanon in 2006 were civillian targets far away from the frontline. do you honestly think sharon dident know about the impending massacres? is the world round?

@hargohargo - add to that that Israel was an ALLY to Apartheid South Africa (after all, they had Apartheid in common) and they were negotiating to sell them a nuclear weapons - so how did Israel escape condemnation for that?

Why didn't the US SUPPORT APARTHEID South Africa? After all, they were the "only democracy in the region." This is more true of SA than it is of Israel and the Middle East where there are MANY democracies (meanwhile, our gov't supports a MONARCHY in Saudi Arabia...)

@ScottfromTexas A) Almost every country on earth dealt with S.A. covertly and openly. That is not to say it was right, but it does say something about those who single out Israel in that respect. @ScottfromTexas The USA supports and supported many regimes with questionable values. To protect ones strategic interest you must from time to time deal with nasty people. This was especially true during the cold war. But criticizing it without looking at the whole picture and comparing it to the good that the USA has brought to the world in terms of prosperity and human rights is being a useful idiot like Chomsky and friends.
