All opinions. This car isn't focused on people who drive Japanese but more of a European styling that flows. I'd take this over an Audi any day. And as for the REAR heated seats button if that's all you can find wrong go away. Can anyone tell me what they would prefer. Brand prestige or how cheap you pay for a luxury car. And as for the engine I personally would prefer a V8 but the point of a V6 is that it uses less fuel and has lower emissions. FYI Global warming is fake.
I agree with this reviewer. For a car with sticker price of 57K, MKS needs to be better than that. At that kind of price range, I can buy Genesis, which is actually the better cars, and pocket the $15K change. Heck, that kind of money can go a long way now days.

Obviously this guy doesn't know shit about luxury cars. " Buttons too small, Some Kinda perforated leather- won't look good in luxury cars". This guy would probably bitch about a Lexus LS460, BMW 7-series and a MB S-Class too cuz they all have small ass buttons everywhere that may FEEL CHEAP, LOL
How ever you cut it, in the end, this MKS is a shitty car, compared to other luxury cars in its class. It's too bad Lincoln can't build cars that are better than foreign-made cars.
But then again, what can we expect from beer-guzzing union members, who suck up nothing but government subsidies and beers. ROFL!

You started the video saying the new MKS is Lincoln's flagship FULL size car. The Town Car is still Lincoln's flagship car, but you start the video saying the MKS is a full size car and by the time you get to 1:47 the MKS became a midsized car. At this rate, by time you post a second video, the MKS will be as big as a Smart for Two lol.
Nice car, but the guy who reviewed it seem to find faults with the smallest unimportant things. The buttons are too small, the cupholder feels cheap, WTF?
"the seats have this sort of perforated material in the leather we don't really think that's going to look so good in a full-on luxury car" ... Has he been in a BMW 7-Series or Mercedes S-Class?
he said there were perferated seats in the car. isn't that for the airconditioned seats? maybe he should have done his homework before passing judgement.
Don't be so hard on him. He seems young. That's a cross he must bear until he gets some more experience. But if you close your eyes and listen to what he says, there is substance in his comments.
I saw my first one today in black parked at the gym and it was flat out gorgeous. I don't what these cameras do to it but it looks way better in person. Honestly I wasn't a fan on this car at all at all but once I saw it, I would take the black one with the 340 hp ecoboost anyday over a Lexus or Audi.
i kinda agree with u. for the most part lincoln, like cadillac, has mainly been a V8 company. a car like that really should have a V8. its got that look to it.
they're prolly gonna turbocharge it, it will put out v8 hp. plus its under 38 g's and it's got a weir leather interior. i think its pretty nice for the price
@BklynJayL; At this point it doesnt matter if Lincoln MKS is better than STS or not. The important thing is American cars are seems to getting improving. Because after 1970's, they get sick. Once upon a time Cadillac and Lincoln was most luxurious car on the earth. ( Eldorado, Mark IV&V, Fleetwood Brougham, Towncar ) ...
That's true! Well..., try telling it to this Douchebag, on here named "HondaJapanPride"! I've been arguing with this FOOL ALL NIGHT, lastnight about Ford/Lincoln vs Toyota/Honda and, the U.S. economy! You're welcome to checkout or, even join our argument on the vid. called, "2008 Toyota Sequoia 4WD First Drive by Edmund's Inside line"! Lol.. ;-)
i agree with all of u and thats rare. this car sucks i mean cheap is an understatement. how about generic. and i was about to buy this car oh my back to drawing board
How can you tell its cheap by watching a video of a pre production model. All the magazines has given the interior a good review, some said its interior is up with lexus and Benz.
that center console reminds me of volvos signature floating stack center console, i dont like that at all volvo is such a better brand I think. This is what happens now since ford bought volvo I am so afraid it will go down in quality. I love volvo
American car makers are improving again, this is the truth. But the market is more harder than 1970's to become leader car manufacturer. Because there are germans and japans now. BUT Lincoln and Cadillac always produced good cars. The But I think Cadillac is better than Lincoln, so I think STS is better car. But MKS is good, however interior desing is very good, I think better than A6 and E class. And, there is no only avaliable FWD. If you want, you can buy this car with AWD.
I agree with everything else you said until, you said, the Caddy STS is better than, the Lincoln MKS! Cadilliac makes remarkable vehicles...but, I think, Lincoln won this battle between the MKS and, STS! ;-)
I wish that American manufacturers would quit trying to be import wannabes and realize that the people who buy domestic don't want an ugly, slow, cheap import. American luxury needs to have a comeback and just blow the "competition" away.
Went to a dealer to look at the MKS and was turned off when I started to talk numbers and the dealer would not budge more than $700 off the MRSP. The car was $46,070 and I looked at the invoice price online at $42.134. take off the $700 and the dealer wants to profit $3,236 plus the 2% holdback of $921, total $4,157. I laughed and walked out the door.I have a Mercedes coming off of lease and was willing to give an a American car a shot. What a joke. I will stay with the imports!.
Hahaha, that's hilarious now that you've pointed out to me the car has A/C seats and this dude on the video is criticizing the styling of it. Nice one.
"The MKS seems promising, but it's really conventional looking..."
I like the looks but it certainly isn't as distinctive as what Caddy is doing (love or hate the Caddy's). It seems handsome but not incredibly unusual (which is OK) - maybe halfway between a Buick Invicta and Jag XF.
the smaller engine will have enough power around 230-260 horsepower. this will not cause any problem with fuel economy which should be 19-22 mi. city and 27- 30 highway mi. A big car from Lincoln that may bring life back to the brand name for luxury cars that are America made. Maybe then i will come around to American cars of this type. Please do not mess up Lincoln. First mistake Ford Taurus platform better be beyond great.
Cato: The tail is straight up Maserati (not a bad place to steal from if you want to steal) though I like the MKZ look better. The Koreans also stole this just like they stole the Jag front, and parts from BMW, Mercedes, Honda, etc.
My only problem with this car is that despite V6 and front drive it's still a bit of a gas pig.
Otherwise, neat car. Semi-affordable, good safety features, etc.
I went to opening night at my Lincoln Dealership, and see the MKS itself, and it is a very nice car, with soft leather seats, the navigation system is unbelievable in size, and it looks really sharp. I could hardly get a chance to really look it over it was so packed in my dealership
Since it was a "pre-production" model why is this nerd picking it apart? The heated seat switches he was mad handling most likely were not functional i.e why they feel cheap. etc.
This guy needs to be smacked. "The dash leather is hard" NO DUH. You wont be sitting it, Its there to protect your dash from the sun you nitwit. Gah This guy totally screws this video up
Normally he does a good job but on this one he talking like a guy who owns a Merc and is a prick.
This seems like a really nice car, and, although many would disagree with me, I do find it very attractive looking. I do hope this guy's impressions of the car's cheapness are wrong and that Lincoln puts a lot of thought and quality to every detail. Despite of whether the price will be lower than the competition, it alone won't be enough to lure buyers. They need to make this competitive in terms of quality. Cheap luxury already exists within the Ford product line and that's Mercury's job.
Ive heard other first impressions and none of them say anything about the MKS being cheap. The guy on this vid is just being a pain. His comment on the dash and air cooled seats shows his head is in his arse lol.
You're comparing oranges to apples. The CTS is great, but it's in a different category. I think the MkS competes with the STS. And this review is a little biased. It only talked about the weaknesses of the car and it concealed the qualities.
=) Granted, even as a die hard Ford fan I think I'd rather own a CTS over an MkS. The CTS is not as big and I tend to prefer mid-size cars over full-size ones.
I just don't understand the whole mid size full size thing... I rented a Taurus, the agency told me it was a full size car. In my opinion the Crown Vic/Marquis/Towncar are full-size. I can get 5 COMFORTABLY into my Marquis, I travelled from Chicago to Detroit in a Taurus "FULL SIZE" with 4 adults who weren't very happy.
Hum... Taraus / Sable is actually has quite a bit more room in it than the Grand Marquis. The leg room in the front is the same, three inches more for rear seat passengers, and a larger trunk. The issue of which is it, is related to the overall exterior dimensions. The exterior is smaller than the Marquis, but it has more interior room. It actually has the largest interior in the full size category.
Agreed. I don't know why reviewers refer to this MkS as a "midsize" car. This thing is huge (larger than a short-wheel-base Mercedes S-Class). The LS was mid-size. I'd say this would be a good TownCar replacement.
The car is a replacement for the Town Car as the new Flagship only. This car will not appeal to some Town Car owners. It has a lot more technology features, has a firmer ride and not quite as much room as the Town Car. That isn't to say it is a small car, just smaller than the Town Car. Lincoln is projecting over 40% of MKS buyers to have never owned a Lincoln or Mercury.
Can this guy be anymore more anti ford? The Dude is complaining about crap that's very petty or not even petty at all like the seats. Damn, I was waiting for him to say something about the tire tred on the tires and how he doesn't like it.
I totally agree with the 3 answers at the bottom of the page, because I have done tons of research on this vehicle and it blows away the Acura RL and is on scale to the STS, a thing Lincoln hasn't done for over 10 years. Although they have a powerful V6 with turbos, they should've had a V8 option with turbos that would literally blow away any luxury sedan on the road.
I've been waiting on Lincoln to make it's come back and it seems my wait will continue..Why is it so hard for Ford to build a Luxury Car that doesn't insult the intellegence of the market..Any serious car guy/gal can clearly see the Ford/Mercury unpinnings on this car..The interior have reminders of the Taurus and the grill is ummm, so Mercury...and where is the V8 option? Yet this is suppose to be the flagship for lincoln? A Buick Lucerne with the northstar V8 will laugh at this car..
not so fast, lincoln fan.you forgot that Cadillac already has a direct injection V6 that already puts out well over 300bhp.secondly this junk is front-wheel drive.now let's see who's laughing now. This car is nothing more than a "warmed over" taurus with a ton of chrome thrown at it.boring front-wheel drive platforms that Cadillac has all but abandon.think i'm lying? check out all of Cadillac's lineup.all rwd except the DTS;which will be replaced in the future to a RWD sedan.
dont like Lincoln? why watch a video of one then. its funny that you fucks rag on the Ford Taurus when theres nothing wrong with those things, their not bad at all. Why compare Lincoln to Cadillac? Why play that game of "this cars based of that one", "its really just a whatever with chrome on it." You be making fun of Hyundais, Scions or whatever company is taking business away from Chevy, Ford , or Dodge
looks like you dont know too much about cars, if anything. first off i like buicks too but no way the Lucerne has a better interior. You bash this car for having taurus roots, yet the buick is basically an impala. the v8 on that buick makes about the same power as the lincoln v6 actually. anyway neither of the cars are fast, so i doubt buick is lauging. youve been waiting on lincoln to make its come back? how, it never fell off!
I think the two previous comments said it all pretty well. This critic seemed unhappy about having to acknowledge there was a lot right about this car. His downbeat demeanor communicated more than his words. He also demonstrated he's a bit of an idiot when he claimed it was "pretty roomy for a midside luxury car." Huh? First, it's very much full size. Second, it has more room in it than anything else in the class. Pretty roomy my a--. It's all about value. Most cars today are way overpriced.
Umm--the perforated leather is for the cooled seats. BMW does it and their cars and somehow it "works" for a luxury car. It may need some work but it's also about 20 grand less when you compare content to BMW 5-series, Audi A6, etc.
I thought the same thing, but looking at the reviewer I understood that he is not the paragon of criticism on luxury. He needed to feel hip, and what is hipper than bashing an American brand. At the end he mentioned that there is a lot of value in the MKS, I thought he was never going to say it.
Oh to have this car....as for the review. Snooty much? Buttons too small WTF just can't please everyone

-The capless fuel filling system is an interesting innovation

Despite the arguments over looks and over Lincoln vs. Caddy I think we can all at least agree that the reviewer is a major league jackball.
Soamsey 3 years ago 3
the smaller engine will have enough power around 230-260 horsepower. this will not cause any problem with fuel economy which should be 19-22 mi. city and 27- 30 highway mi. A big car from Lincoln that may bring life back to the brand name for luxury cars that are America made. Maybe then i will come around to American cars of this type. Please do not mess up Lincoln. First mistake Ford Taurus platform better be beyond great.

I'm disappointed. The rear end looks like a Korean car. Based on the Taurus? Come on. It's too small to be a Lincoln. I miss the Continental.
Cato2005 3 years ago
Cato: The tail is straight up Maserati (not a bad place to steal from if you want to steal) though I like the MKZ look better. The Koreans also stole this just like they stole the Jag front, and parts from BMW, Mercedes, Honda, etc.
My only problem with this car is that despite V6 and front drive it's still a bit of a gas pig.
Otherwise, neat car. Semi-affordable, good safety features, etc.
Soamsey 3 years ago
I went to opening night at my Lincoln Dealership, and see the MKS itself, and it is a very nice car, with soft leather seats, the navigation system is unbelievable in size, and it looks really sharp. I could hardly get a chance to really look it over it was so packed in my dealership
owensry2 3 years ago
Since it was a "pre-production" model why is this nerd picking it apart? The heated seat switches he was mad handling most likely were not functional i.e why they feel cheap. etc.
fastsuper 3 years ago
This guy needs to be smacked. "The dash leather is hard" NO DUH. You wont be sitting it, Its there to protect your dash from the sun you nitwit. Gah This guy totally screws this video up
Normally he does a good job but on this one he talking like a guy who owns a Merc and is a prick.
32silvercoins 3 years ago
This seems like a really nice car, and, although many would disagree with me, I do find it very attractive looking. I do hope this guy's impressions of the car's cheapness are wrong and that Lincoln puts a lot of thought and quality to every detail. Despite of whether the price will be lower than the competition, it alone won't be enough to lure buyers. They need to make this competitive in terms of quality. Cheap luxury already exists within the Ford product line and that's Mercury's job.
superauctionstar 3 years ago 2
Ive heard other first impressions and none of them say anything about the MKS being cheap. The guy on this vid is just being a pain. His comment on the dash and air cooled seats shows his head is in his arse lol.
The MKS is gonna be Lincolns 3rd big hit
I know it
32silvercoins 3 years ago
An OK car review but why would I be feeling the dash?
CALL IT THE CONTINENTAL! NOT MKS!
ThePurpleGang 4 years ago
He says the perforated seats aren't as upscale as one would expect. All cars with air conditioned seats have perforation. It is necessary.
BuzWeston 4 years ago 2
I was thinking the same thing, this guy is an idiot for not knowing that
JKCougar 3 years ago
nice car but the new cts is better
jesusynai 4 years ago
You're comparing oranges to apples. The CTS is great, but it's in a different category. I think the MkS competes with the STS. And this review is a little biased. It only talked about the weaknesses of the car and it concealed the qualities.
superauctionstar 4 years ago
you have a point there I was comparing two different categories
jesusynai 4 years ago
=) Granted, even as a die hard Ford fan I think I'd rather own a CTS over an MkS. The CTS is not as big and I tend to prefer mid-size cars over full-size ones.
superauctionstar 4 years ago
If you are looking at a Mid-size, you should be looking at the Lincoln MKZ. It is the comparable car to the CTS.
libertylm 3 years ago
The MKS is a little bigger then the STS. The MKS is built of the Taurus platform which means its huge inside lol.
32silvercoins 3 years ago
I think this guy is an IDIOT! Loss some weight there chubby then maybe the buttons will fit your fingers.
bgtr123 4 years ago
I think the reviewer may not be over the hill for the Lincoln MKS, but the value, looks, and options will make the car a hit.
Grglend 4 years ago
wow that was about the most biased car review I've ever seen
stanbernadino 4 years ago
the new CTS is much better and nicer looking than this one in and out

Ummm, agree to disagree.
buzman1985 4 years ago
I just don't understand the whole mid size full size thing... I rented a Taurus, the agency told me it was a full size car. In my opinion the Crown Vic/Marquis/Towncar are full-size. I can get 5 COMFORTABLY into my Marquis, I travelled from Chicago to Detroit in a Taurus "FULL SIZE" with 4 adults who weren't very happy.
66Lincoupe 4 years ago
It actually has the largest interior in the full size category.
libertylm 3 years ago
this guys knows nothing about this car, believe me.
pezez 4 years ago 2
This car takes the place of the LS.
thomasmerrittparker 4 years ago
I have an LS and this car doesn't even come close to taking its place. Its a repalcement for the Town car
gab403 4 years ago
Agreed. I don't know why reviewers refer to this MkS as a "midsize" car. This thing is huge (larger than a short-wheel-base Mercedes S-Class). The LS was mid-size. I'd say this would be a good TownCar replacement.
superauctionstar 4 years ago
The car is a replacement for the Town Car as the new Flagship only. This car will not appeal to some Town Car owners. It has a lot more technology features, has a firmer ride and not quite as much room as the Town Car. That isn't to say it is a small car, just smaller than the Town Car. Lincoln is projecting over 40% of MKS buyers to have never owned a Lincoln or Mercury.
libertylm 3 years ago
It is a lot larger and more advanced than the Lincoln LS. The LS is more European in nature, design, performance, and handling.
libertylm 3 years ago
Can this guy be anymore more anti ford? The Dude is complaining about crap that's very petty or not even petty at all like the seats. Damn, I was waiting for him to say something about the tire tred on the tires and how he doesn't like it.
SteelCity1981 4 years ago 3
I totally agree with the 3 answers at the bottom of the page, because I have done tons of research on this vehicle and it blows away the Acura RL and is on scale to the STS, a thing Lincoln hasn't done for over 10 years. Although they have a powerful V6 with turbos, they should've had a V8 option with turbos that would literally blow away any luxury sedan on the road.
coolgeek123 4 years ago
it is for the heated and cooled seats all lincolns have it.. i sell lincolns i should know
thecody1100 4 years ago 2
I've been waiting on Lincoln to make it's come back and it seems my wait will continue..Why is it so hard for Ford to build a Luxury Car that doesn't insult the intellegence of the market..Any serious car guy/gal can clearly see the Ford/Mercury unpinnings on this car..The interior have reminders of the Taurus and the grill is ummm, so Mercury...and where is the V8 option? Yet this is suppose to be the flagship for lincoln? A Buick Lucerne with the northstar V8 will laugh at this car..
DigableDude 4 years ago
When the EcoBoost launches it will be the one laughing at the Northstar.
yamajammer76 3 years ago 2
not so fast, lincoln fan.you forgot that Cadillac already has a direct injection V6 that already puts out well over 300bhp.secondly this junk is front-wheel drive.now let's see who's laughing now.
PHOOBEAR22 3 years ago
easy there poo bear. Cadillacs v6 has 260 hp
maddog24637 3 years ago
dont like Lincoln? why watch a video of one then. its funny that you fucks rag on the Ford Taurus when theres nothing wrong with those things, their not bad at all. Why compare Lincoln to Cadillac? Why play that game of "this cars based of that one", "its really just a whatever with chrome on it." You be making fun of Hyundais, Scions or whatever company is taking business away from Chevy, Ford , or Dodge
KevinLSV8 3 years ago
looks like you dont know too much about cars, if anything. first off i like buicks too but no way the Lucerne has a better interior.
KevinLSV8 3 years ago
I think the two previous comments said it all pretty well. This critic seemed unhappy about having to acknowledge there was a lot right about this car. His downbeat demeanor communicated more than his words. He also demonstrated he's a bit of an idiot when he claimed it was "pretty roomy for a midside luxury car." Huh? First, it's very much full size. Second, it has more room in it than anything else in the class. Pretty roomy my a--. It's all about value. Most cars today are way overpriced.
emedee45 4 years ago 2
Umm--the perforated leather is for the cooled seats. BMW does it and their cars and somehow it "works" for a luxury car. It may need some work but it's also about 20 grand less when you compare content to BMW 5-series, Audi A6, etc.
dkosters 4 years ago 2
I thought the same thing, but looking at the reviewer I understood that he is not the paragon of criticism on luxury. He needed to feel hip, and what is hipper than bashing an American brand. At the end he mentioned that there is a lot of value in the MKS, I thought he was never going to say it.
