i think you`d be better off with a blackberry torch camera, 5 megapixel and good sound quality. the iphone 4S camera is also a nice one, 8 megapixel and again good sound quality, however when talking about pricepoints the nokia N8 does come out on top, 12 megapixel and HD sound quality

What is a good camera phone that is cheaper? I've tried looking up a phone that takes good video but all the results are expensive smart phone types like the samsung memoir. Is there an older model that takes decent video?

I first saw this video 2 days ago. Today in music class at school our teacher was video recording us singing and she was using the Flip Video Ultra. LOL How strange? And she plugged it into the computer and to be honest, the playback was brilliant.

I bought a Bush one similar to these from Argos in January, it was not great. If Stuart wasn't convincing enough, I can confirm that you do need a USB extension, I massacred mine putting it in directly, but hey, I'm a child. It was good for the money, £50, but it was a bit obsolete when I took it on a school trip and everyone else owned an SLR camera. :(

The zoom is a joke, the audio is terrible, and it's a fixed focus lens that's absolutely not wide angle.

I got a Flip Ultra last week, slightly different to this as it's obviously an updated version. I love it so far, so quick and easy to use, integral software set up in minutes and I plug it straight into my laptop via the usb - I think that's what it's designed to do.

Even though this review is old, I still look back to it as the perfect example of a good comparison/review. It put the cameras through their paces rather than just going "look at this pretty video on a nice sunny day!" and it focuses on the audio as well, which most reviews seem to ignore completely. It also showed me when I was shopping for a low budget camera to look at different footage in different lighting conditions and other situations than just some jamoke shooting flowers in the sun.

The $150 dollar flip ultra has TWO hours of video save...not one. We have two of them and they are TWO hours. Flip customer service sucks. I have yet to find a valid phone number for them(the one in the manual is disconnected!). One of the ultras just died two mos after purchase for no apparent reason and even though covered by warranty we could get NO help. won't be getting any more flips at any price.
