@pleximanic The sound of the Unbucker is very close to the sound of an equivalent humbucker* (7.8K ex.). It just has a little power when tapped. I'll try to get a video up. Lindy
Lindy, All your vids are great. I was wondering if you could recommend a set of your pick-ups for a Fender Texas Strat. It has a humbucker in the bridge and two single coils. I was looking at your hum canceling singles but what about for the bridge? Thanks in advance.
@joedodge1 You have to decide if the whole humbucker is going to be equivalent output to the singles or half of it. If you can call me during work hours. Lindy 804-358-2699
A couple of years ago, I sent the bridge PUP from my original '72 Strat to be re-wound by you (I had installed a Dimarzo Fat Strat). The original PUP was damaged when I self-potted all the PUPs. Now I want you to rewind the other PUPs, the potting I did was terrible and the PUP you fixed sounds great, plus now I've learned to solder the leads once I get the PUPs back :).
@FralinPickups Thanks for posting on my channel to answer that question Lindy. I sent in an order and went with the high output split blades. The check should reach you sometime next week. Did you say it took a month to make em? Wondering so someone can be home to sign for them when thet reach me here in New Hampshire. Blessings from the 603.
@Dubeman07 We are taking 2-3 weeks right now. You can request to be emailed your tracking number when your order is shipped so you will know when it will arrive. Lindy
@FralinPickups Thanks! I am excited and love your work. I appreciate the time you took to answer my questions because I am a novice builder! Your the man Lindy!
Ok, I got a royalty check and can send the PUPs. But one question, is it possible for me to just remove the pickguard with the PUPs still in and send to you? Or would you rather that I remove the PUPS (and mark which is neck and middle) and send?
Hi Lindy, Thank you for the advice. Do you make a 500k blender pot for Gibson style guitars? Also, what pots and caps do you recommend for humbuckers? I was thinking of getting CTS 500k precision pots and sozo.022 caps for my humbuckers. How can I retain my highs and have a clear open sound in the neck and a classic rock type sound in the bridge and have a nice blend between the two? Thanks so much!
@SamwiseGUITAR I use the same blender with Strats, P-90s and humbuckers. For volume pots on Gibsons I like 500k, the ones you mention are fine. It sounds like you want a lower output neck and a slightly hotter bridge. You might like our Pure PAF with a custom wind at 7.8-8.4. Lindy
I can't find a demo of the Unbucker pickup!
