  • Always great to see the hobby though a child's eyes.

  • Great stuff :) I had HO as a kid because a hobby store told my dad that N gauge would be too small for kids. Obviously not the case!

  • @milkymoocowmoo No but he has decided he likes HO better.

  • This kid is smart! I didnt learn how to do that until i was 8.

  • @AllTrains

Thanks , He is really sharp with the DCC now.

    Thanks , Mike

  • Wow he is smart!

  • @pilotso Thanks , yep , we are today in Chama NM and he and his brother will ride the train here.

    Thanks , Mike

  • This family looks....Awesome!

  • @peterandben

Thanks , He is a train Brain for sure.

    Mike

  • @mrfifer Of course it helps to have a huge layout, I'm working on an N layout with 2 loops, one goes up in the back and drops down in the front, the other has a depot and one switch. If we had room, a big layout would be great, but we don't!

  • Mike,

Funny how kids figure out how to do things in their own way , great way to teach Mike.

I was going to order some micro train body mount couplers from you when I noticed

a place for a coupon where can I get these coupons it will make a difference of how many 10 packs I order . thanks Marty

PS when are you going to upload more videos ?

  • Thanks Marty , The coupon code is only for certain MT items IE. loads and State and Canada cars.

    New videos soon!

    Thanks , Mike

  • Cutest kid EVAR.

  • @et2598 Dont start a hobby shop of your own. Nothing but a headache. I worked in one a few years back but it went under.

  • Sorry , No

  • Thanks , Mike

  • He must love you for having the train layout.

  • Cool Stuff Mike

  • @drgwc278 Thanks , I think i'll keep him !!!!

  • he is smart!

  • boccarp , Thanks , He is a keeper for sure!

    Thanks , Mike

  • My layout doesn't have sound at all.

  • @myder100 Mine only has background sounds as I am not a fan of N Scale onboard sound.

    Thanks , Mike

  • Ah, the next future railfan. Glad to see you have introduced him to trains.

  • Oh he is a BNSF guy all right . The other day the yard man (in the Las Cruces Yard) gave Gavin his order holder and he about pooped his pants. LOL

    Mike

  • Gavin is really cute! nice layout to!!

  • Thanks , He loves his trains !

    Mike

  • What are those red and yellow ribboned bombardier car in the lower left hand corner?

  • New Mexico Rail Runner but you can not buy the locomotives due to a mid production leagal issue.

    Thanks , Mike

  • i wanna see him run the super chief

  • Oh he has and does. He requires the lights out so he can see the car lighting though.

    Mike

  • wonderfull, mike

    the saga continues.

  • Thanks , he is a real railroader!

Look up (bnsf electrician) here on Youtube.

Gavin thinks he works for Eric Harlow on that video.

    Mike

  • Okay, I see

  • That is one smart 3 year old, I would trust him with my trains, I don't really trust anyone with them, and I have never seen that re-railer, I've always done it the old fashioned way, with a yard engine, that's a pretty ingenious idea.

  • Thanks Pilot, He is pretty good with trains. That is a Kato re-railer.

    Thanks , Mike

  • He's so cute. LOL. And good with the trains

  • Thanks , he is really careful with them and I can totally trust him in there alone for hours.

    Thanks , Mike

  • he's very smart

  • Thanks WBNSF , I just set him up with a 11 car stack train and he is doing well with it and he has learned numbers so he can pick out locomotives.

    Thanks Again , Mike

  • I can see the next generation! This is great! 5*!

  • CSX , Thanks. You would also enjoy that he can ID any CSX locos or equipment!

    Mike

  • Wow Mike, how calm is he! I've got a brother who gets 5 in february and got a couple of old HO stuff today, but I took it away since he is so impatient he broke a couple of things immediately. We wait a few years more... :)

    levente

  • Thanks , I think what it is , is he gets very very upset if anything railroad gets broken.

    Mike

  • That is cool. Wish I had stuff like that when I was 3. I had to watch is go in a circle on plastic track.

  • Well at least you have stuck with the model railroading!!

  • yea. After about the age of 6 I fell out of it. Then at age 10 I got my first train set.

  • I am glad you are back at it !

    Mike

  • your layout looks really nice. i remember playing with my HO scale stuff when i was his age. best age to start

  • Thanks , I think he will be disappointed you have stolen his name!! ;)

    Mike

  • Great video. This is what will keep people running model railroads, learning at a young age.

  • Yes , I hope so. It is hard to find kids that like something so slow paced.

    Thanks , Mike

  • Well,There is that NYC RDC (jet) you could buy,and let him run that at prototypically high rates of speed...

  • God forbid!

  • Yeah! First view! Anyway, the layout is looking nice Mr. Fifer!
