  • Hows your rig holding up?

  • The 6100PM-M2 is a reliable motherboard. I have had several of them. And Elite is a reliable mb manufacturing company. I have had almost nothing but Elite motherboards over the last decade or so. And not has come not working or failed.

  • Woah, this is weird here are my specs for a 650$

AMD Athlon II x4 3.0ghz quadcore

    1TB HDD

    550Watt PSU

    4GB ddr3 RAM

    Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 1gb

    24" Monitor. all under 650

  • @jj9528 what about your motherboard and case and OS? Good deal if you got the whole shabam for 650$

  • samo rape bebe

  • I have a very similar rig as well.

    8400 Phenom X3 2.1ghz

    2GB corsair 800mhz DDR2

ECS GeForce 6100PM-M2 MicroATX (Could I use a AM3 procesor on it? I think I might just get a new mobo but I'am only 14 and spent all my birthday money which I got on my brithday to make the computer which I made on my birthday in the same day so it was rushed, btw It was my 14th birthday, 1 month ago)

    HD 4670 1GB SAPPHIRE

500GB WD caviar blue 7200rpm sata

Phillips 22xRW dvd cd combo super IDE

    500 w CIT

    lots of fans

  • would you say this MOBO sucks? I have it.

  • daymm u all got these pro things and i got a new laptop and a 9 year old uncustomized deasktop......

  • you should of honestly gone with an asus or gigabyte mobo and a EVGA 9800....gt....they are cheap snd a way more powerfull card

  • my build is similer to your cost around 515$ without video card which i plan on getting this weekend (radeon hd 5770 185$) my specs are Amd Athlon x2 2.9ghz 4 gigs DDR3 320gig harddrive gigabyte motherboard and antec sonata 3 case with antec earthwatts 500watt psu

  • HEY THE SAME VIDEO CARD I HAVE

  • u should get the 8800gt its much better than 9600 gt

  • dont feel bad bout ur case, my new powersupply has been in Louisville for 13 days now.......i payed for 2 day shipping :/

  • Lol I paid 30 euro (40-50 dollars) for shipping and it's been one week and two days and still not here... It is very annoying when shipping takes so long :/

  • btw this build cost me $600 aud

  • thats 300$ usd

  • thats cheap......for aus that is

  • imo the E8500 is better for gaming a good budget gaming rig is an E8500,8800gt or 9800gt(same thing),3gb ddr3 ram, gigabyte EP45T-UD3LR.i have this exact build and i play crysis at 1980 x 1080 resolution, everything on gamer settings and i get around 40-50 fps,i recently overclocked my cpu and i get 45-55 fps,so overclocking makes a big difference.

  • bullshit, an 8800gt/9800gt can't do crysis at 50 fps on gamer.

  • trust me i had to do some tweaking to my hardware

  • @Mrbadboy333 lol yea the 9800gt can in dirext x 11 -_- as for the 8800gt i do not know. if that card supports dx11 then meybe.

    1 x HD5770 has a min of 40 FPS at 1680 x 1050 all hultra high settings with 4xAA

but my test system did have 8gb of ram and a amd phenom 2. 4 core class cpu running at 3.5 ghz per core.

  • @danielsayles - the 9800 gt doesn't even support DX11, the only nvidia cards that support dx11 are the 480, 470 and 465 -.-

  • @Mrbadboy333 tell that to windows 7 -_-

  • @danielsayles - It doesn't matter if the SOFTWARE supports it if the physical HARDWARE doesn't.

  • @danielsayles realize ur wrong and get on with your life >_< no point in arguing when you know its not right..lol

  • You didn't just call that 9600 massive did you? Jesus, it's so low end now....

  • check video date dude, it's almost years ago.

  • I just built a nice little Rig for around 500$, Q9400, 9600 GT, 4GB of DDR2 1066, 500GB HDD, plus my 400GB I already had, Coolermaster 310 with red lights and etc, 4 case fans, and other junk.

Going to OC the CPU to around 3.5ghz.

    Damn good deal for 500$

  • 3.5 Ghz...Mmmm sexy

Just remember to keep an eye on core temp when you OC.

Ruined a few good ones that way. Intel has a very bad rep for shorting if it gets to hot.

  • I must mention I already had the vid card.. so it would have been around 565:P lol.

  • Should have gone for a E8500 and gotten a better GPU, like, IDK, a 9800 GT/GTX?

  • @nairb2693 I did not want a dual core, that's a step down.

I don't care if they say it's better for gaming, gaming isn't the only thing I do.

I am also looking into buying a 5850 or 5870.

  • Why would you go for a 5800 if you're not a mainstream gamer?

What could you possibly need a quad core for unless you're a video junky who does a lot of editing and encoding?

If you just want to play the games at a nice resolution with Med/High settings definately get a GTS250 or something from ATI.

But, hey, it's not my money to spend here.

  • The 5850 is a great deal for 300$, It stomps the GTS 250 in every area, and it's better then a GTX 285, also consumes much less power also.

    I think it's a great deal for 300$.

As for my processor, it works, it gets the job done, what more do I need?

  • First of all, the GTS 250 is like $100, and I thought you were looking for a budget system, but I guess not.

And for your point on the processor, thats exactly what I've been saying, a E8500 would do the job for like $50-$100 cheaper.

  • BTW, I just looked on newegg, funny enough, the E8500 is the exact same price as the Q9400, 189$.

As for the gpu I want to go a bit further then the GTS 250 because it's not very future proof, but it's good where it stands right now.

  • Did I say 8500? My bad, I meant the 8400, the one I should have bought for myself.

    3.00GHz w/ 6Megs L2 Cache

    Amazon has it for $150.

In my opinion, no cards are futureproof, as it seems that a new card is released every week.

  • I didn't buy the 9600 with my new system, I had that a year before actually.. just didn't buy a gpu with the new build, so if that clears your thoughts about why I went with a 9600 gt at this date.

  • yeh but a 4870x2 also beats the gtx 285 and as i recall its about $50/$60 cheaper

  • Comment removed

  • do you have this cpu (e8500(?

  • No.

  • dual core isnt for gaming, and you're missing a video card.

  • dual core is considered better for gaming because it can be overclocked at far greater speeds then a quad and there arn't many games that use all four cores.

yet if you're into video edeting etc. then a quad is better... but still, more games will come that use more cores.

  • i just bought for 500$ a

    intel pentium dual processor

    6gb. ddr2 ram

    Windows 7

  • anything under 9800gt is a waste of money man. nVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 is great, got it on its way. best you can get is the GTX295+ its kind of retarded because you dont need it for any game

  • gta iv would get max of it :P

  • bet its slow as hell though. max + lag doesnt mean shit. Maxing without lag is the ONLY way to max

  • yea. we will see how gta iv runs on it when ill get it

  • yeah. Its not completely worthless now. but it will be in a year for any new games. If you invest now you wont have to later.

  • yea. ill get new parts to my pc soon and ill see what that card rly can do xD

  • help that mobo is shit i had the same mine craped out...

  • so did u ever put it together yet?

    and waz it easy???

  • hey, i have the ECS Geforce6100PM-M2 too. but im really strugling to overclock using it. i cant access ram timings or CPU and ram voltages. am i missing something or is it just not there at all?

  • It's just not there. It's a real pain.

I was gonna save up for a better mobo soon.

  • its a pity hey:( im probably gonna have to do the same. i have a amd 5200+ 2.7ghz x2, 8800gt 512mb, 2 gigs ram. how does your rig usually run things? u have fallout 3?

  • It should run fine,I got fallout and it runs pretty good on mine. But I got a lil more RAM and video.

Might wanna think of a cheaper 9600 gt video card or higher.

  • i did my build with that motherboard too mate its a great motherboard and doesnt cost the roof to get hold of i am getting my 4gb ram tomoorow as 1gb ram is rubbish and the sims 3 runs awfull even with a nvidia 9500GT graphics card so the rams to blame getting that sorted tommoorow 5/5 mate

  • U look like Timmothy Treadwell

  • why does your ceiling fan have only one light

  • woot world of warcraft gamer!! For The Horde!

  • Sweet budget build, nice vid

  • u could of gotten this cheaper i got 1 just like this but some better stuff and i got it for only 420

  • nice build

  • UPS likes they're wrapping paper i can't wait...i'll light something on fire muhahahaha!

  • some more wrapping paper! lol aaaannd 12 feet more of wrapping paper lol

  • amd is recomanded for gamming

  • budget computer but still good ^^

  • im building a gaming computer and was wondering if you have to buy microsoft windows to make it work or does the processor or motherboard come with it. wheres your hard-drive?

  • you need to buy a disc

  • Youre fucking retarded. If you dont know that dont even bother trying to build an computer.

  • do you really go through your life being a bid dickhole with syphallis. you could just keep your comments to your self vag wod

  • LOL true that man

  • Hahaha.. yeah you need to buy a disc. But you can also try going to the dump and finding computers with CD Keys and reuse them so then you won't have to pay for extra discs.

  • do they even let people mess around looking for stuff in a dump?

  • Yeah they do, haha. I find it funny how people don't know the value of a busted machine... let alone a Sticker with a bunch of letters and numbers. Well everytime I visit the dump I save $100. Ask for permission to whomever works there, or google for a dump to throw away electronics and pay them a visit.

  • yeh i figured it out right after posting the comment i made my computer 3 weeks ago its sick. i ended up getting windows home premium

  • vid comin tomorrow or next day of finished rig.

  • cool... cuz I ordered from Newegg too :P

You got the same hd, dvd drive, and case as me (except mine is orange/black)

As for ram, I went Gskill 2x2GB

    Processor: Intel E5200 2.5Ghz

    Mobo: ASUS PQ5

Vid card: GTX 260 (planning on getting a better processor for this later on)

All in all, I was on a budget too, but overspent a little bit. Newegg is still cheap and great, only cost me $720 (shipping and everything)

    Please post your rig :)

  • why only 500w power?

  • Ill post a video soon as I fix my camera, my dog got ahold of it..Yay for $50 repairs

  • Please upload the final product i really want to see the outcome.

  • i have both the same cpu and the same mobo as u do, but i have a 9800gt. I even have the same amount of RAM as u do. wierd, huh?

  • I was on a fixed budget of $550.

Total cost including S&H was $545.10

Only gonna be using it for movies, WoW, and some simple net usage.

  • not being mean

but u got a microatx motherboard and a tricore CPU???

and for 20$ more u could've got a better card

  • I agree. You should have gotten a hd 4830 or 9800gt

  • what wrong with micro atx for a cheap rig?

  • absolutely nothing is wrong w a micro atx mobo

im just saying he could've gotten an reg atx board for like 10$ more

and if he was lookn good at atx boards he wojulve even had the chance for an sli or Xfire board

even tho if those pci ex[ress were "only" x1

    ao its totally alright

i was just saying that he couldve done a lil better

    but still a nice rig

  • I personally like Matx boards hehe, kinda cute.
