  • Does any body have the PTV documentary "LAHORE KE DARWAZY". I shall be grateful if any body uploads it.

  • Baradaram tauseef. kheli mamnoom az shoma. Qabalan barai shoma man 1 e-mail ham kardam...Lutfan aahang KHUSHA ROZGARI...KHUSHA NAU BEHARI...ra ham UPLOAD konid...

  • Excellent. I am speechless my dear friend, millions of thanks for uploading :-)

  • This song and language is NOT FARSI or PERSIAN. This is the Afghan Dari language. There are NO "W" sounds in Iranian Farsi/Persian. Farsi and Dari are two different languages with different histories. It's fine to compliment their work but it's important to know what the work actually is. Chances are they'd find it very difficult to sing in actual Iranian Farsi as that is a language that I speak. Merci az ahange khoob.

  • Extremely non sense comment. I don't know who are you? but I must correct for all the viewer that FARSI, DARI OR TAJIKI all are one language with same history. From Rodaki Samarqandi to Firdousi, Sa'di, Khiam, Jami, Hafiz Sherazi, Amir Khusro to Iqbal Lahori and in the recent past all the poets and writers of Iran, Afghanistan and the sub continent are read by all the people, either they call their language name whatsoever....FARSI, DARI OR TAJIKI...

  • As of January 24th 2011, the total view count for this video is 37,888 and I can say this with great certitude that out of 37,888, I have listened to it 37000 times :)

Note: Just a hyperbole, a gross exaggeration on my part depicting how much I love this clip! :)

  • well early Pakistanis were more like persians but after the 1990's indian media invasion has effected the culture and made us forget our language!! we need to get back to what we used to be!

  • I HAVE BEEN IN IRAN FOR 3 YEARS.I SPENT TIME IN ARAK AND TEHRAN BUT DIDNT LEARN FARSI MY FATHER KNOWS WELL.WHEN I START LEARNING I CAME BACK TO PAKISTAN.:))

  • Mohd Ali Shehki is from Iran. He does speak farsi.

  • omg she is stunning in this song, i love her i like her pashto songs but his is one is like one in million ............ Nice mahjabeen, yyyyyyyyyy u didn,t sing farsi songss...

  • Thanx Tauseef bro...4 such an excellent song...

    i m looking 4 " Jane baharan " remix

  • Mahjbeen nd M. Ali Shehki are Pakistani Singers. nd the poet is Allama Iqbal.

  • please edit the info Mahjabeen never worked in drama and movies

    Thanks

  • what a beautiful lyrics/poetry and superb singing ...on such a crap music.

  • thanks for Tarjuma..

  • for better tarjuma watch repose video

sung by Naheed and transtaled by Faizx Ahmad Faiz :)

  • Great Taus!

  • Great upload. Mahjabin could speak 6 languages and you would never figure out if even ONE word was below the standard... She could speak Pashto like any Pashtoon, Farsi like iranians, Urdu like any Pakistani, dari like afghani, Turkish and more.... Shehki too was a gerat star of his time... dont know where have these people gone? well done tauseef...

  • wat u mens pashto like pashtoon, and dari like afghan? pashtoom=afghan, not dari.

  • Dear Brother from my words pashtoon and afghan i mean pashto speaking and dari speaking belts ONLY in terms of langauge.. I dont differentiate human beings on the basis of men drwan bounderies into nations.. i believe there is no afghani, irani, kord.. we all are muslims by faith and human by nature. i hope that claifies my point here.

  • @HomayunShirzadeh

She is a legend. She speaks Panjabi and Hindko too and has also sung in Balochi and Seraiki. And look at how beautiful she is. Such a memorable song!

  • wo0w.. that was a beautiful rendition

true, zibaan e farsee sheereen ast.

  • I regret of losing this heritage so much, I can't describe. I really don't know where we are heading in Pakistan. Persian is the Mother of Urdu, without her, Urdu is just uprooted!

  • My elders in Pakistan [Karachi] have studied both Arabic and Persian in thier Schools, both uptill late 70's and Arabic uptill late 80's. But now, it's only Sindhi and the rest has all disappeared from the curriculum. Unfortunately, Persian had to go before Arabic.

  • excellent....class....

  • یادش بخیر

  • Couldn't stop listening! Awesome uploading Tauseef.

  • We disgraced knowledge and we were disgraced by the powerful. We are helpless and penniless because we waste time and so waste the opportunities

  • I do not understand persian, but I love to hear it, it is without any doubt a beautiful language.

  • kheli khub ast....

  • Excellent..thanks for the subtitles in both Persian and English. Much appreciated.

  • Totally awesome !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful. Thank you for this poem. Iqbal - the heir of the Islamic civilization of Hindustan - the heir of Khurasani civilization - Persianate civilsation of that whole art of the wold - extending from Bengal to Khiva to Istanbul. Thank you for this. It is a great shame that after Pakistan was mortgaged to Saudi Arabia by Zia Ul Haq - Persian language was removed from the national educational curriculum of Pakistan. Pakistan needs to get back to the ideal vision of Iqbal if it is to survive.

  • @Ghurshah

    v well said.

  • Mehjabeen is a great Pashto Singer, Now a days where is she, I think now she left music, She has a great voice in urdu singing also, same shehki

  • beatiful, i listen to it again and agian.

  • Beautiful poem written by a Great Poet and philosopher Dr Allama Iqbal. I love Great Iqbal's poetry as they r so inspiring and carry a great message inside. Thanks for uploading it.

  • excellent. Look at expressions of singers during singing. Small but very explanatory movements of body. Like the pride posture by mahjabeen while saying "khursheed bada ma nam" and down to earth posture while saying 'dar man nigari heecham"

  • Acha janab, Jaisay aap kehtay hain, maan laitey hain.

Its been a long time and I was a kid. Ab to yeh donon bhi Babey ho gaey hon gey

    :)

  • Well, Both can speak Pashto very well and as far I remember, I heard an interview of Sheikh and he told that he is a Pakhtoon. May be from Afghanistan and speak Farsi as well.

  • Both are actually Pakhtoon and mostly Pakhtoons from Afghanistan can speak Farsi easily

  • I beg to differ: Qizilbash are not Pakhtoons. She may have lived among them, and therefore speaks Pashto.

  • whom do you mean are pakhtoons? Qazalbash or Shehki?

In fact qazalbash isTurks and shehki is irani arab. Shehki cannot be pakhtoon. Where and when any body heard this...

  • Their pronunciations are amazingly good for Pakistanis attempting to recit Farsi.

    And Shehki's voice is great.

  • Dear shuja

both ve farsi and deri as mother tongue :)

    Shehki is of iranian descent.

and Mehjabeen is also Deri and pashto speaking..so there shdnt be any problem with accent

    am i right

  • Yes, the Qizilbash (alternative spelling) are of Turkish-Iranian descent, so they speak Farsi and Dari. But Shehki's pronunciation has the edge here.

I like this anyway, though. Thanks for sharing!

  • thanks shuja

i've some other persian poetry sung by shehki..

being persian speakin PTV have recorded many farsi tracks in his voice..ll try to bring them here

  • @tauseefqau it is lovely thanks indeed, Yes my mother tongue is Iranian Persian, & today also when I speak the language Iranians feel that I am speaking from Tehran. I have sung many Persian poetry of great Allama Iqbal, especially if you find "Aye Gunbade Minaai" and some other in which I am a comparatively healthier looking I would be grateful........Tashakkur

  • @01006336201 agha tauseef....kojai baba... chera javabam nadadi? Lutfan yak negahim be ein safhe wa e-mailet ham bokon...

  • Thank you Tauseef for sharing this exotic duet. Both the singers are gifted with a good voice, however, some accompanying music would have enhanced the beauty of this performance.

  • When ihears 1st. time Shaiki ,s Name back in 1980 i assumed he was from Iran .Any way Iwas affraid that he shall kill ANayyar,s market but Nayyar went well thru this Arrival .I Still think Shaiki was very Talllllllanted tha Alamghir &other New comer of that Era .Thugh sometime his sounds like A.Nayyar !
