Jolicloud is a kinda pointless. The 'apps' are just bookmarks and the file storing system is the Dropbox system and the document/file system is that of google docs. They are all just links. Don't recommend it. If you don't believe me, try it for yourself.
@MrGameboy0895 you need to save those sites, and mos people do that in the form of bookmarks, when you go on any computer you can access this using Joli, and there are also native apps, which means apps that are not from websites, just like in the iPhone
it seriously looks like a ubuntu netbook ripoff -_- but i skipped a lot true it since in the os name is cloud and i do not care for giving away my privacy
Jolicloud is worthless when you lose your Hot spot or WI-Fi internet connection. Ubuntu 10.04 Net Book Edition is as fast as about anything and you don't have to deal with Unity which is on the newer versions of Ubuntu.
Running Windows XP on my Samsung NC10 netbook is not a 'dog', so that comment was totally rediculous Spence. I installed the latest Jolicloud OS on my Samsung netbook and it was rubbish. After less than 10 minutes, I'd had enough. I'm now back to Windows XP, where I will be staying...
Does anyone suggest this? I'm mostly worried about memory. Approximately how many GB will it take up on my computer on the initial install? Also, is it good for a touch screen?
@matheushms99... "Bob has just Installed Redtube App, would you install it? [yes] no"
For sure, right!! Ha-ha. I like how she knows what she is talking about. However, it's a netbook!! A nintendo DS is more powerful than that. Ha-ha I hate NETBOOKS!! but I am so attracted to her. Ha-ha.
Lol 16GB is huge, considering Julicloud is supposed to be a cloud operative system theres no problem running dual boot, give Windows 10 GB and Ubuntu 6. However, i do encourage to remove W7! :)
does jolicloud have Empathy on it? one more thing, I've been using Ubuntu for a year on my pc, is Jolicloud easy like Ubuntu? I am considering buying a netbook and install Jolicloud on it for college use. However, I won't be using the internet that much though. Should I get it?? Thanks.
@blinkblinkblinkkdd jolicloud is pretty much useless without the internet as it relies heavily on web apps. I'd keep ubuntu, if you're not planning on migrating to OS X or Windows.
I have a 1gig RAM Acer Aspire one and just started JoliCloud on it. Will adding an SSD to replace my HDD make anything noticably faster ? ( JoliCloud is already really fast and kicking my Win Vista OS in the speed department).
broadcom 43xx wireless not supported. Had to connect to internet through wired connection and go to terminal and enter: sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter
After doing that my wireless driver was supported. I'm not really decided on if I like this OS or not. I need to work with it more but I'm not really super thrilled with the non-privacy stuff -- where people can see what apps you are using, etc.
I think it's fine since it automaticaly installs with a dual boot option, so you can use this when you just need a fast boot up and won't be messing around with anything more than internet, office programs and some music. (it'll also be good for [older] people who aren't too good with tech and almost only use their computers for email)

As you probably know, Jolicloud has evolved a lot and it is now available:
- As a Web app. In addition to our availability on the Chrome Web Store, we support Firefox 4, Safari 5 and the iPad (as an experimental HTML5 port).
- As part of our Joli OS operating system.
- As an Android app (coming soon). We are extremely excited by the potential of Jolicloud in the mobile space.
