That's so sad. Those people were obviously coming up on it too quickly and not giving it enough time to acclimate to them. I know that vets have to 'move on' with their business, but is it really necessary to traumatize an already freaked out animal. They could have had someone come in and spend time with it (if it was a stray/feral), someone used to dealing with those kinds of animals. I'm sure a volunteer wouldn't be hard to find. Us cat lovers are happy to go out of our way to help them.
