I don't understand whhy people get so put off by the comparison between sspu and the Pumpkins. The band has openly stated that they are actually flattered by the comparisons because they love the Smashing Pumpkins and think that being compared to 'such a great band' is an honor. As for the similarity, Brian simply said that "[We] just like big, loud guitar."
