x-box 360 problem (IT IS FIXED)

put a towel on and cover the xbox take of the av cables and the hard drive only let the power cables on and turn it on and than cover the xbox 360 with a towel wait 15 to 20 min and than turn it off and let it cool . it work for me

I have a Philips T.V and when i plug in the non HD cables its nothing. but there is sound but when i plug in the HDTV cable there is black and white but the HDTV is not on. when i put the non hdtv cable in its a pink screen, when i turn on the HDTV on the xbox it goes off. any help?

i think its dirt coating the contacts inside the xbox's av port. take rubbing alcohol and apply it to a q-tip. gently wipe the contacts, don't use too much stuff, also do the same with the AV cable contacts. may work.

Mine did the same thing. I was playing Oblivion, then all of a sudden the screen turned into a glitchy purple and shut off. the 360 was still on and so was the controller. Mine shouldn't have overheated because i was playing it for 30 minutes. Can anyone help?

first check to make sure the cables are all plugged in correctly, second if it still wont work try another TV. if it still persits call up microsoft ond the will fix it for a fee.

I'm glad this wasnt a unique problem to me. I was playing Halo 3 with my friends till my screen started shimmering blue and yellow, so I turned everything of and there it happened. Well I've allready fixed mine. It happens to some people when they have DOWNLOADED content from marketplace. So I played the downloaded content and put in my halo 3 disc and thats where it started. It was just audio no video, they said when they fixed it that the it occured something to the motherboard. Weird.

i would beat the shit out of it, mine did the same, and i took it apart, yes, i voided my warranty when i still had a 4 month warranty...i took it apart...now, before...i had no video but audio....there are two x-clamps located on the right side of your xbox. now take off your cover and metal casing..one[right x-clamp if the xbox is flat and the power button is to your left laying down] is for audio and the left one is for video....i will message you another comment....

i think this is what happened:

What here happened is that the GPU (graphics processing unit) has overheated and melted the VGA card (Video game array) card.

And this takes away the video/picture.

But you can still hear sound because the SPU is much much smaller and has a tiny chance of overheating.

So now the vga can't connect with the the CPU (motherboard) and the AV section.

like 2 days ago u can try this i called xbox the other day and this is what they said As the console starts, press and hold the Y button, and then pull the right trigger at the same time. The Xbox Dashboard resets the display settings to the default settings, and then automatically restarts the console.Try and tell me if it worked for you.
