what a treat to see one of the most underrated but wonderful guitarists of all time, elvin bishop, and then delbert mcclinton on the same stage at the same time this is indeed wonderful. i always encourage people new to the blues to check out bishop's early work with the paul butterfield blues band when elvin was in his teens and his hallucinatory guitar solos on "east-west"

i was a really youg g.i. the 1st time i say bishop at the infamous "whipping post" and have bee a fan ever since.

Recognized Paul Thorn at a restaurant right before his concert. He was wearing sunglasses, a hat, and wasn't talking, so his southern accent wasn't giving him away. I just went up to him and said "you're Paul Thorn". He stopped & talked to me for a few minutes & was so cool. His phone rang & he even had the caller wait until we were done talking. He signed my CD, which was still warm from playing it on the way to the concert. What a day! Excellent musician and quite a comedian too!
