  • Lodge Cast Iron is great, it is the last American made cast iron cookware company.

I just cooked my New Year breakfast Bone-in Ribeye steak on my Lodge Grill pan that I bought at a locally owned Farm and Fleet store. They sell Lodge gear for less than WallMart sells it for, and they even have sales on the stuff from time to time!

Buy Made In the USA, and buy from Locally owned busineses if possible!

    Great stove :)

  • @WisconsinEric - Hi Eric, thanks for the comment, however... I beg to differ with you on Lodge Ironware. It is manufactured in South Pittsburg TN and I have bought several pieces from Walmart over the years. I hate every piece! No matter how it's seasoned or how well it's greased, almost everything sticks to it. I finally called the company and asked what it was made of besides iron. Was told silicon. All I know is that it is not the right color, texture, or sticklessness-

  • as my mother's old cast iron skillets. I bought some old black iron skillets off of Craigslist and am going to clean them up and use them. If you notice, I use a lot of grease on my grillpan, thats because it a Lodge from Walmart!

  • Never pick a steak with a fork ! Use a spatula to turn it !

  • what are you using as the exterior can/metal barrel?

  • @tommy0135 - it was a brand new, never used charcoal grill that I bought at a yard sale for a couple of bucks. I cut off the little legs, turned it on end, cut open one end and presto-chango instant rocket stove shell !

  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • Hi, just wanted to let you know what I finally found out. a cheap insulator for the rocket stove is cat litter. I have tried it and it works great. Nice videos.

  • too cool-- thx

  • WOW... VERY resourceful and yummy !! I wish to cook some chopped up leeks or some green veggables in the meat drippings at 2:44 - 3:07

    This video is great.

  • good job!

  • this video is what "YOU"tube is all about!! thank you.

  • Well Done nicely servered

  • Made one out of a 5 liter heneken keg, ikea cutlery drain, and a bush's bean can for the intake port! Great little camp cooker for surf fishing on the beach!

  • rocket stove is better than the simple stove ?

  • finally some one uses a rocket stove on youtube

  • @pcblah

Truth. 2000 videos on lighting them, making them, watching them burn...

    But finally. real world application.

    ::applaud::

  • y a pas assez de gras connasse, rajoute en un brin non??

  • Hey,Youre Rocket stove is rockin to close to youre house,Move it or youre home can burn down someday. Please !?. This video realy scared me.

  • @gokmovies my mud hut will not catch fire, so my rockt stove is on the inside

  • I need to build another rocket stove I like to cook outside keeps the house cool and all the smells out. Clean up is no biggie either you can hose the outdoors. The rocket stove I built used fluke material and I used it so much I burned the pipe up it had a blowout in the tube I would have to buy more stuff I used pearlite to insulae so the heat would be sent up the fluke. I have a few paint cans might build one like you have there that is a good stove perfect for my family.

  • @cdltpx Cool thing is you can find a grill at any thrift store they usually are a grill surface that has no plug so what you dont want to plug in when you have a rocket stove and some twigs. Some nations the population has used all the wood in their area not so here anywhere I have been in the US I have been able to find material to use in a stove.

  • Try to use stainless steel for cooking on. More healthy.

  • Did you get through that doorway in to the house?

  • Next time can I get my steak medium rare with some onions and peppers? I just made a rocket stove? with 2 mini kegs. Do you know how I can make some type of oven to fit on the stove so that I can do some baking? Is it even possible? By the way, I love your video. It rarely if ever gets as low as 8 degrees where I live. If it drops to 40 we think it's another ice age!

  • Hear her sizzle

  • Neat Rocket stove...I was wondering how you discovered rocket stoves....and how long do your stoves last? My first and favorite stove didn't last as long as I thought it should...

  • I read an article about them in Mother Earth News Magazine decades ago. I wanted one ever since.

I've not had one "wear out". The only reason that I got rid of my old one was that it wasnt insulated and I just wanted a new one that was.

  • @calionstallion I have been using a StoveTec rocket stove and they work great! I have tried several different rocket stoves and found that the StoveTec stove is the most efficient and cooks the best because it stays hottest. It also has lasted me over 15 months now and still going strong!

  • @calionstallion I have been using the StoveTec rocket stove and it works great! I have tried several different rocket stove types and the StoveTec has worked best for me. It is the most efficient and stays the hottest! You can also cook with either wood or charcoal on it. I have had mine and used it 3 to 5 times a week for the past 15 months. Its still going strong!

  • kinda cool but it was painful to watch her flip those steaks like that

  • What is that sould effect?

  • cooking a steak on a hot plate is a waste of a good steak i would use the open fire

  • OILY\ ENOUGH?>

  • what really amazed me and my wife was the fact that your rocket stove burns so little amount of fuel(sticks) as compared to other types of fuel..

    thanks fo posting

  • that looks really good! 5/5

  • wow never seen one of those. i use a small weber smokey jow. how does the rocket stove compared to that? i like the fact you dont need to buy charcoal and use cheap free wood

  • not bad at all. but technically ;) youre using the griddle side...not that theres anything wrong with that! but do you ever use the grill side?

  • thats pretty cool. I live in a poor country. we use them all the time, sometimes empty cans

  • Hi taga, what country do you live in?

I cook supper on my rocket stove most every night. Tonight it was fried chicken thighs. Soooooo good !

  • I'd like to see the fried chicken video...I love your video entertaining and informative.

  • wow that stove looks insane i never seen one before

  • hi how hot is it the stove

  • yummm

  • Outstanding job - throw some sliced bell peppers & onions on the grill after the steaks are done, and before you start the burgers : )

  • What a great idea! I'll do just that next time I cook steaks, which will be just a couple of days from now.

Actually, now that I think about it, I may grill some salmon steaks on there tomorrow. Its 8 degrees outside, but that doesn't bother me a bit !

  • its 8 degrees where te hell do u live

  • Janet in Tenn - sounds like a clue to me ! And yeah, it gets to 8 degrees here in Tennessee in winter time.
