  • PPS: I just tried doing this with Vice: cr.lk x3 > hcf bc but it wont do her slingshot/whip kinda grab that pulls them in, just HD activation. What am I doing wrong?

  • @KellyNUTS does the snake arm normally combo like that ? I'm trying it now and it seems to come out too slow to be a combo ?

    arrrgghhh, Sorry, I should have checked before, thats probably why, cos that move cant be comboéd from cr.lk. regardless. But even when trying to do hk > f.lp > hcf b+c it doesnt come out consistant, I think Im probably eecuting the command too early I accidently did it slower twice in a row and it worked.

    Thanks heaps for this video! Been playing 2k2 for years and only found out that b+c trick now thanks to this vid!

  • when going for Ryo's cl.C, f+a, hcb hcf ABC, i only get an empty HD activation or a roll. what am i doing wrong?

  • This particularly useful to grapplers or anyone with a grab DM... It allows them to empty jump and buffer the grab motion, activate HD right before landing and do the grab DM... then Max Cancel it into their Neomax... Kensou by this method gets 660 damage... Goro by this method gets 710 damage...

  • in KOF02 its practical but in KOF13 the auto dash can easily make u connect to a better combo.....

  • Out of curiousity, whats the advantage of doing this over the normal HD activate (auto-dash) into cl.C/D + cmd normal that is generic for most characters?

  • @DonkeyDisk well, it lets you bypass all of that. normally only certain moves (normals) are cancellable into HD activation. this lets you get around that, as well as letting you skip the "HD, cl.C/D xx cmd normal ..." part of the combo and just go straight into supers/specials. skipping this ends up making the combos a lot easier, while only sacrificing a little bit of damage.

    What is worth bearing in mind is that not everyone who is learning XIII at the moment will be from a KOF background, or are particularly comfortable with doing long(er) BC combos.

    Even adding one hit (despite auto-running on HD activation) creates an extra input which can potentially drop the entire combo, I'm sure many long time KOF02 players may not find this video useful as they are already condtioned to doing BC combos. For others maybe it is still difficult.

    It uses full drive bar in XIII (or two super stocks in 02) as technically you are still activating BC/HD mode, and that is the prerequisite for activation.

  • Pretty cool, I was a never a major 2k2 player, but I recall hearing about tht BC bypass technique, but never learned how to do it, until now. XD

    I'll be trying to apply this technique in XIII.
