anyone who played this when it came out like me go on to play demons souls and dark souls? the combat isnt the same but i thought it was rather similar, i thought about this game while playing those.i think the souls games are better but this game(the arena levels) are good too.

@AlexLococo nah you play as two characters one whos a young guy and the other the gladiator the young guy has sneaking missions usally sneaking around guards and such. i dont like the sneaking missions but they dont ruin the game for the most part.

I remember you could chop body parts off and such. Why the hell dont they make more games with realistic killings ? Like COD is kinda cool , but ther eis no violent deaths. Same with Halo and Oblivian. You just get a body that flops lol. Even back on the N64 i remember Turok, You could shoot a Human in the neck and they would squirt blood from the neck and makeing chocking noises to death, man wasnt that great. They should definatly think about making these motions for the future games

I heard that a million times before I actually bought one, but in my personal opinion a lot of the glorified titles weren't that great. Not to mention the system felt like a step backwards after owning an original XBOX. The online was bad, and memory cards were expensive. It just felt kind of primitive.

First of all, this isn't a PC game. You can't just download it and play. The only way you can download it is if you have a pirate-chipped ps2 or a ps2 emulator. None of which can be done with your level on intelligence.

also winnning will give u a chance 2 increase ur fame and therefor fight better gladiators. u cud teach newbies how 2 fight & watch other npc's rise as u do. & watch some fall. u shud not just hav ur own storyline but the computers characters shud 2. in sparring u shud learn new moves & reverse moves, because ther will b 2 many reverse dodge and attck, and blockiong moves u shud choose the moves u want to apply to ur charcater. and u cudnt just attck, if u do ths u will fall into anothers trap.

please , ubisoft or some company make a good gladiator game, i'm really into spartacus blood & sand & gods of the arena. & they need to make a game like that. u could make a carreer mode like spar to improve, choose ur fighting style, if u win a fight u gain access to new titles & better armor or weapomry. & create it so it takes skill to b good on it. i hate games that r 2 easy wer u just press da same button. u shud hav 2 duk & revers 2 win it shud take long 2 break anova gladiators dfence.

damn i miss this game so much its totally worth a sequel in my book and i know so many who want a next gen sequel as well. this game brought something new to the table for its genre no doubt and it was addictive. i loved playing the dual roles too. this game and def jam fight for new york were prolly the 2 best games imo for ps2. then they came out with def jam icon and fucking ruined the shit outta the series. GIVE ME SOR2 and DEF JAM 4 8)

they did.. the story in colosseum: road to freedom is exactly the same, besides the betrayal at the start of the film. but the main aim in the story is to advance through the gladiator ranks and eventually kill ceaser. hes even called commodus the same as the film :P
