Can you elaborate on the the process by which a paper map is digitized? I've heard talk of a "tablet" of some sort, but it would be more convenient if I could simply scan the map and load it into ArcMap as a JPEG. Is this possible, and if so, are there disadvantages?
HI, I have encountered a problem while digitising streets that I have never seen before. Basically whenever I use ''MERGE'' tool to join two polylines it changes the shape of the features and sometimes they magically disappear from the screen altogether.
Any thoughts what the problem might be? Thanks in advance...
I would like to know if you can see a kml or kmz file from google earth in arcGis 9.3 ¿? 'cause I've been trying to do it but I read that arcView is the only one that can export to shape file... ::*__*::
Lots of people do prefer the drag n' drop between the programs. I'm stubborn and I just don't use that feature. The reason I imported instead of selecting is because I wanted my shapefiles to have the exact reference as the raster and it is much quicker to just import from the file with the spatial reference you know is correct. Thanks for subscribing. I'll be putting out some new videos soon seeing as how summer is here.
when using arcatalog you can simply drag and drop layers over you dont have to use the add data button. (its much faster) Why did you import the spatial reference instead of defining it?
I have a problem. Let's say i have drawn the polygon to mark the boundary of a district. If I have to do the same for the adjacent one (district) sharing a common boundary with the first one, how can I automatically make a common polygon border without marking points all over the points that I had marked earlier for the first district? I hope you get me and respond to my query. Thanks. Great video by the way.
is that aerial photo already orthorectified?
