Those are not mealworms. They are superworms. Mealworms are smaller and have little to no nutrition, while superworms are full of fat and protein. None the less, nice video -- cute Meerkats.

before anyone takes offense I love meerkats. Now let me ask one question. Why r the meerkats so plump? Good eating and not alot of room to roam or a combination of both. Their Khlahari kin are alot thinner.

Very good observation, they are all overweight, not a good thing for Meerkats. I recently visited Fellow Earthlings Wildlife Center in Morongo Valley, CA. Check out website. Those Meerkats looked just like if they were in the Kalahari. I noticed the Wild Animal Park in San Diego had the same problem you see here, they were overweight.

Please see what is going on at our LA Zoo. Look at Chico's weight and how bad the grounds have become. They are giving us the run around about his age, teeth, arthritus, filing permits, etc... We even had to point out Spanky's death to them. They tell us & the media they are working on it- for 9 months now!!! Please help us if you know any Zoo that might welcome Chico. You obviously care for your Meerkats, and it shows. They do not, and it shows. Lets put him 1st for once.
