...this reminds me of the good old times when I read Tolkien's books again and again. The character Gil-Galad already appears in the Silmarillion, so I figured the song is written about this... but then then I remembered it was a song strider hummed to the hobbits in the first half of the LOTR.
I actually thought about composing music to some song/poem in the book as well, couldn't come up with a good idea though. Maybe I'll manage to do so in a while....
BTW: Your voice goes very well with this kind of music and I dig the guitar picking. Although I was a bit surprised about the middle-part, now I think it's been a good idea and it adds to the mystic style of this song...

Well, it's pretty short. I'd thought about trying to write a couple more verses--I did that with a Tim Buckley song, once (mainly because I just couldn't bear it ending so quickly), but realized that what we really needed was an instrumental bridge. Of course I don't play anything, so I started improvising something when I played this. I don't have a set melody, and I don't think this one especially well suited, but it's what I came up with while the camera was running. Thanks.
