kitten.. tura... raven...babette. meyer never made them porn queens, he made them goddesses. he was a genius and the greatest american film director. sorry for punctuation in my last comment
I agree with all the praise of Russ here---But because I am reading his biography i know that the Melissa he is referring to is Melissa Mounds. RM and she had a highly dysfunctional violent, alcoholic relationship. It coincided with the time he began his slide into dementia/senility, and we see that in the early stages with this clip.
U R correct. Russ deserved better at the end. He was the King, funny, outrageous & a true film auteur, who created the entire thing from concept to print....He lived in the perfect time for Russ to be Russ tho, in that, he was lucky as hell.
RM also deserves better than he is getting in death! A person came into his life near the end and obtained rights to running his business and life! because of the senility) The result is the films are not re-mastered on DVD (says Roger Ebert), highly expensive to rent for art houses festivals/revivals, and have you seen the official web site. At my last viewing it was still archaic-you still couldn't pay with a credit card. only one of RM films availble on Netflix is "Beyond the Valley."
Russ was the greatest. He would have been miserable in this politically correct era however. He was perfect for the times he lived. I miss those days. RIP Russ.

Cantileverd" was a favorite "description" late in his life.
