A few corrections: According to CaseClub there are only 6 micro cases, the largest being the 1060. (the 1080 is not a micro case). The micro cases are not waterproof anymore, but water-resistant, and now all the cases come with a carabineer not lanyard.

Yes, they come out quite easily and taking them out doesn't affect the water-tight seal of the case.
