Thing about PS3 is that it's harder to code for, that's why most big, cross platform release games such as CoD and Battlefield are just Xbox ports, hence they have many more problems than the Xbox version. Xbl is a superior service, not by much, but the fact that it's paid for gives Microsoft a reason to update it.
