History channel is just politic historic channel.. I think they don't care about chernobyl, died people, radiation. They are thinking like "what we can do for our anti-sovietic, anti-russian propaganda"...
@EoineyMTX125 They only classify 28 workers as dying since many of the others died of cancer and they can't know for sure whether it was the plant or just cancer.
true yes but surely look at the biorobots surly the amount of radiation they were exposed to contributed to there heaith its common scence all supressed by the soviet government
It's terrible what happened to these workers... most of them died of terribly painful cancers, all for nothing. It's a wonder why we even have nuclear power plants at all.
@eatcarpet Your right, but, thinkin about it we need them, this is a horror of all horrors, and man made errors, just like 3 mile island.. their is no way to power the US east coast without it, just safety must be goal number one, BUT, also a Japan situation could occur, very unlikely on the east coast, but still man this is some real scary shit, lets just pray they contain Japan and the rest of the world is UNaffieded, peace..
Ive been trying to find a really good documentary i saw in history channel about chernobyl with dramatizations and everything it was like an hour long, i watched the hr long one that its posted here in youtube but i cannot find the other one yet. This is really interesting and incredibly horrible. I personally like nuclear energy and what happened here, in 3MI and what is going on in Japan is nothing more than human negligence.
@KayBeeEee1983 Yes but i bet you the reasons that led all the way to the malfunction of the plants systems were not just the earthquake and tsunami I can almost assure you that by the time investigations are done lots of the classic "bad maintainance" thing will come up, almost always happens thats y i said that.
@JAAPJXBIT I'm pretty sure the tsunami damaged the plant's ability to use water to cool the reactor. I guess they were negligent putting the plant in an area that was susceptible to earthquakes/tsunamis.
Holy SH*T! We see on the news, Japan's China Syndrome is still not as bad as Chernobyl, but they have opened that area up for tourism I heard not long ago, a couple months back, not sure what that entails, but expected to get tourists interested in seeing it up close, and in person. I do believe it's habitable for a short time? Not long though
@tomalotube I saw a woman's blog earlier, and watching this and the footage on YouTube, this doc misses the footage of a helicopter crashing as it attempted to douse the core with it's payload. The people on the scene earliest were committing the ultimate sacrifice for the safety of others
@fortissabrok, yes truly horrible. Many of those workers died as a result of high radiation dosages. There is a word "biorobots" for those soldiers that were running on the roof of the building trying to shovel parts of the exploded core back in. These men were called in as a replacement for robots that quickly stopped functioning when exposed to the enormous radiation. The fatal dosage was a matter of minutes out there.
@TaqiyyaExposer I'm actually a capitalist, I support the Conservative Party here in the UK, and yet I still find the narration quite offensive because 90% of it is simply not true.
@TaqiyyaExposer Erm what you talking about? Ukraine was as Capitalistic and Fascistic as it is today like it was under Soviet era. Soviet Union was controlled by a dictator or later a president/premier however the regions are self controlled just like the Chernobyl region
It was those filthy so called Capitalists that lived undercover in USSR, where they believed that money is better then supporting the people and think about safety first no they had to day dream about tons of money instead when running this test
@Macaque909 --I definitly heard the bias as well.Funny how people easily fall victim to propaganda,,,I was almost waiting for him to say that a hijacked plane with terrorist crashed into the reactor...but then I thought "there were no remains of a plane, people would never believe that".....or would they?
@Macaque909 Its pretty obvious the USSR deserves to be criticized to anyone with a brain because this wouldn't have happened if government officials hadn't cut so many corners and blatantly disregarded the safety of thousands of people.
@Macaque909 the Soviet Union did an atrocious job handling the situation. it's a big deal- when the government's complacency and secrecy allows for the suffering and death of their own people and affect those abroad. the USSR can burn in hell.
@Solidboat123 Nonsense. It's like saying 3 Mile Island happened because of the USA. A simple google search will turn up the causes of the acccident.
I'm not saying the USSR is perfect but this is a horribly twisted version of events. The truth is that many people gave their lives to avert a disaster at Chernobyl, and the narrartor doesn't credit any of them, which I find disgraceful.
@tkavalanche24 There's too much backstory to get into a 15-minute documentary, and some important facts were skipped. The slow reaction from Moscow was made worse by the plant director insisting that the accident was contained and radiation within acceptable levels - it was only when the Soviet Energy Bureau made their inspection the next day that the truth was revealed. The technicians were bullied into performing the test by their supervisor, who believed there was no danger.
@Macaque9 That's the policy of History Channel, it seems. I noticed a pronounced hate speech towards communist world in many more History Channel documentaries. Declassified series is perhaps the best example.
The point of this video is to tell you what happen at Chernobyl. They just dont what to scare people too munch and sens the show was made in the us they dont what people thinking it could happen to them.
Just ignore it. Ever alot public show treats people this way. And you people here turn it into a war of whose the best.
This was probably the most sorry excuse of a "docementry" regarding Chernobyl i have seen so far. To sum it all up "Russia is bad US is great" if you "read" between the lines.
It didnt bring up any relavense or fact regarding the meltdown just alot of "something happended" or "unknowned" was spoken of. But i took the time to watch anyway. So thank you for the upload.
I have gathered some documentries regadring what happend if you like to watch some more. These are no my uploads.
yes... a complete disregard of any safety reg's resulting in a cloud of fallout over nearly all of europe, displacing thousands, killing hundreds, and deforming hundreds of babies is definitely propaganda to show that the us is better. or it's just the horrible goddamn truth.
thumbs if if this reminds you of call of duty modern warfare.
