I read that the finalie was actually supposed to be MUCH different at first: they were supposed to return to Earth Prime and finally defeat the Kromaggs there and free it by using Geiger's Combine technology, but they changed their minds, like they did about the Evil Colin plotline and John Rhys-Davies version of Exodus which was supposed to be MUCH different.

I LOVE this show. I've got the ENTIRE show on DVD (the last season came out just last week). I found a pretty good fanfiction site with season 6 stories: the first one picks up where this episode ended with Rembrandt returning to Earth Prime. There, with the help of the Earth Prime Diana, he spreads the virus and defeats the Kromaggs and its not easy either, then he returns to Seer World using Kromagg technology. There, he encounters Logan Saint Claire who's defeated by Mallory

They then continue Sliding and manage to reanchor Colin and return to Mallory and Diana's homeworld where they use a comination of the combine and Kromagg technology to heal the damage Colin had from being unstuck and to try to build Quinn a new body to transfer him to, but fail in seperating Quinn again.

Im glad to know from Tracey Torme, that the real Professor Arturo was left behind on the world that the Slider's thought was their home. Which was back in the season 2 episode "Post Traumatic Slide Disorder". It was at the end of the episode that the professor and his double were fighting just as the wormhole had opened, the double jumped in and the professor's response was " My God! "

Seeing how this show ended with a cliffhanger, it leads people to assume an end. The only end that you should assume, though, is that Rembrandt dies (the seer insisted that they would all die if they attempt to slide, and he was probably right, this suggest that even if Rembrandt slides by himself he will die) at the end, suggesting that even though they tried, all the original sliders from Earth Prime die. All the clues that lead to the end of the show suggest that none of the sliders survive.

The sliders ignore this and attempt to slide in the end, however, they are unable to and only one of them can go, Rembrandt forces the sliders to choose him and he goes by himself. Therefore, by only having one person go, instead of all of them, perhaps Rembrandt has changed that prophecy.

This show went to crap right after the professor left. He introduced a sense of learning in the tv show that really made it fun to watch. I still remember when he quoted mark twain as saying "my coldest winter was a summer in San Fransisco". The show started going bad about mid way through the second season, but it really went down hill when the professor left. This would have been a grate show if they just keep the sprite of the first season, by introducing real historical pointchanges

Sliders was one of the best shows on tv for the first two and a half seasons. Then the professor left in the middle of season three, Wade left at the end of season three, and even Quinn left at the end of season four. The cast in season five was an awful joke. Even if we assume that Rembrandt makes it home safely one day, Quinn, Wade, and the Professor deserved better fates.

This was a great show that started going downhill rapidly once John Rhys-Davies left, followed by Sabrina Lloyd and the O'Connell brothers. I never liked the whole Mallory and Diana phase. Maggie was alright, but I missed Wade and Arturo. Just another sad example of a great show treated like crap until it becomes obsolete. If they ever come back around to try it again, it had better be with the original cast and crew and they had better treat the legacy with more respect.

I don't care about this final episode at ALL. Seasons 1-3 were awesome and then everything went BULLSHIT when Fox kicked Tracy Torme, John-Rhys Davies, etc. out of the project. Not comfortable w/ Maggie Beckett who helped killed the charm of this show. Sex does sell I agree, but sex also stains in the sofa and that's hard to clean off just like Sliders.

In a fan site I found called Virtual Season 6 the writter continued their adventures. In the first one, Rembrant destroyed the Krogmaggs on Earth Prime with the help of Earth Prime's version of Diana and the two returned Remmy to the Seer's World through Kromagg technology. There they battled Logan Saint Claire from season 3 and Mallory defeated her, getting her timer which was the Sliders new timer while she was imprisoned on Seer Earth. They then continued their adventures awhile

The adventures continued and after awhile, Diana finally managed to reanchor Colin through technology on another world then they returned to Diana's world where Quinn and Mallory were finally unmerged with Quinn being brought back in a new cloned body of him. Unfortunaly doing so rendered Mallory paralyzed again, but under Quinn's leadership and a lot of work, they finally located Quinn's true homeworld where his parents were able to fix Mallory before they returned to Earth Prime

it got somewhat good with Season 4, but the season finale of 4 proved to be the most damaging to the fans since they didn't carry it all over to Season 5. Only original cast member which stayed through the show was Clevant Derricks so he lucked out. Who knows, the O'connell's could've gotten greedy just as easy. I wouldn't even waste my money on season 5.

And I guess it would leave the season 4 finale unresolved. Personally you'd almost have to pck up where Clevant Derricks left of at the series finale and there are a lot of ways to go with reviving the show in sme aspect. Wouldn't bother if Jerry O'Connell wasn't in it.

The wrong Professor Arturo slid, according to the clues that Torme put in the series before he left. Torme stated categorically that the wrong Arturo slid in Post Traumatic Slide Syndrom, so they can bring back Arturo, or the right one anyway.

First off, Tracey Torme said he would have made it so the wrong professor went with them. However, you're correct that the other professor did indeed prove that he wasn't "evil" as people tag him to be.

The alternate professor made a terrible mistake, by using the sliders to try to boost his career. After he slid with them, and got to know them, he felt a great amount of guilt for leaving their friend behind. That's why in episodes he's always wanting to stay behind, and says he should die.

Maybe Rembrant not getting home was a good thing. In a way they telegraphed it enough so you knew how it would have ended without seeing it.

If you were a character when the series started and you had the foresight of knowing that kromags would overrun your planet within four years... wouldn't you have slid to find a new, better homeworld?

omg and sliders was THE BEST TV SHOW I dont care what anyone says

the ending just left everyone hanging there after 5 seasons and now with Rembrant gone too none of the origional sliders remained
