Not sure how many are familiar with it, but terragen can be used to create the terrain maps as well as preview them in 3D before grabbing the greyscale image (Old habit, I call it a bump map) and using it as the height map in Daz. Terragen is for both mac and PC, also it's free for personal use, may help a few out who try this.
there's youtube user super3boy who made a long series of videotutorials. since there were substantial changes to blender in the recent months, i think he re-made the introduction tutorials
It looks good in 1080p, but if I play it full screen, it's pixellated. Not jpeg compression artifacts sort of pixellation, but aliasing, as though it's not true 1080. But that could be a problem at my end.
the source video does have some aliasing, but youtube added some more. i downloaded the videos from youtube, the biggest is a 76MB .mp4 (the original was 120MB ) it's indeed 1920x1080, and i see the aliasing when played in vlcplayer. To me it looks like they downscaled my video to 1280 then upscaled it back to 1920. I may stick do making 720p videos :)
Bravo signore Casa. io sono dessnr. come stai? era un buono filma. mi piace.
Well done Casa. By the way, Linux also has a great version of lmms ... Nice interface and user-friendly enough.

Well, this video was fine, dandy even. :P
I plan on fiddling with Blender in February. I have the month off, so I'm hoping to get some of the basics down before I have to go back to work.
