peperangan bukit chandu merupakan perang paling sengit kerana ia melibatkan 2 pihak yang berani mati kerana pertempuran terakhir tidak melibatkan peluru, sebaliknya bertempur dengan pukulan dan tikaman banet. salah seorang anggota yang masih hidup menceritakan saat leftenan adnan diseksa. ketika itu leftenan sudah dalam keadaan parah, tetapi masih tetap berjuang. peristiwa itu memberikan semangat kepada anggota lain untuk berjuang sampai mati.

Brought my 8yr old to Bukit Chandu last Sunday and I had a hard time telling him about the Malay Regiment coz' he thinks the Americans and British were the heroes. I finally convinced him, with information and scribblings on a paper that the Malay Regiment are the true Heroes for their courage and bravery and we should be darn proud about it. Very difficult to tell a boy who played games and watched tv with Americans or British to be the ultimate hero, bleah......
