Yes there is a "Rec" lamp off position in the menu. I have had it for only 2 days, so I'm not into every menu.
I'm using a MacBook Pro i5 17", and I see that You are an "Apple Pro". If that is correct, You should write me. That is if You want the same quality. Without the red lamp that is.
