No he won't. In terms of speed even de la Rosa, a driver who had been out of racing for years, was matching Kobayashi. They were 7-7 in qualifying.
He's very over rated. He has excellent racecraft and has a future in formula 1 but he's not a top tier driver and certainly not the next big thing. I'm going to get a lot of bashing for posting this but I genuinely believe Kobayashi is overhyped.
Then again I could be wrong. All it takes is a move to a competitive team to show us what he can do.
@Moore183HD - Nice except everybody can do that. Vettel used to go through corners with one hand on the f-duct in 2010. Webber and Vettel drove one-handed pretty much all season last season... Alonso at one point too.
@darthbandon10 - De La Rosa wasn't fired for being too slow. He was fired cause he wasn't delivering the goods on race day. In qualifying De La Rosa and Kobayashi were evenly matched 7-7 - hence in speed they are evenly matched. Kobayashi just had more racecraft.
@OMGz1122 by his overtaking maneuvers ..you can see that...and we can presume that him..at least ...has a litle experience with drift cars... i bet ..he has..cheers from brasil
@OMGz1122 lol you cant really tell if he's breaking late by just looking at it... the braking time difference between two f1 drivers is too short to catch it with the eye, it's abotu a tenth of a second
he is a legand, put him in a top car and he will hammer everyone

@Anime998877 Except De La Rosa was replaced by Heidfeld for being too slow in 2010. Less than half Koba's points total at that point.

He will not take too long to win his first race :)
felipecaetano15 10 months ago
he could have been a lot faster in that race if he took advantage of the fduct for more of the lap

Operating the F-Duct coming into the final part of the lap, James Key has really helped Sauber push on this season.
