Me and my brother 13 years ago got in the 6th castle and than the last level. IT WAS FREAKING HARD, seriously... it took us 100 times and still didn't make it. It is a pretty big game, but there are doors where u skip levels, which was cool that time to figure it out. I really liked the game back than though. Zelda, mario and link were the best games on the cdi on our viewpoint, not zelda's adventure, because that game was just creepy and we didn't get it(didn't come far), haha. Good old times:P

I think people are just too hard on this and the Zelda games. The biggest problem with these games is the control. If that issue was ironed out, especially in the Zelda games, they could be under rated classics.

Hmm, I don't think this review was very fair; first off, falling off the hotel is not that big of an issue; second, the elevators aren't nearly that confusing, jumping through the floor has been in just about every mario game, the animation isn't THAT bad, enemies opening the doors adds challenge and DOES make sense, and this really isn't that bad, I just don't think you went in with a very open mind. I played the game (and beat it) and found it to be decent, and most certainly unique.

Actually Phillips/Maganvox are the same company. Phillips makes the higher end, while Maganvox is their least expensive brand.

There were several versions of the CDi that were released. I own the 490 model, and I paid around $150 with about 10 games included. The controllers are actually pretty shitty, and were not responsive at all. I'll do a review over this system soon to show everyone.

From my understanding Phillips and Nintendo had an agreement to create Nintendo licensed games. Nintendo ended up ending the agreement to work with Phillips, but Phillips retained the licensed for the games anyway. This particular game is not based on the show (though looks very similar), bur rather was intended to be a new Mario game entirely.
