I've always loved this song ever since I first stumbled upon it in Berzerk. It's in an entirely different level from the other music I've ever heard. Not necessarily better than all of it, but it's just its own category for me.
Although the second one may appeal to you, I actually think Vol I is the BEST EVER. It has a lot of hard rock elements though, which this song does not. But still... awesome band. c:
I feel like if someone likes this song, they'll like the album Vol II by Hurt. The song "Alone by the Sea" in particular. The beginning just reminded me of that song, which is why I listened to it, and ended up loving it :D

I don't want it faster, i want balance, consistency, a resolution....I only discovered berserk 5 years ago either way, i really pity those who've been following it since the beginning though....I read the whole manga(what we had at that time) in one day, so yeah...if someone told you that the manga would continue for 20+ years more(which seems more like it) with only 1-2 volumes per year, how would you feel? One piece is a great example of a good long manga! 67 vols in just 13 years

TBH guys, how many people can come up with a story which is 100% original with characters who are 100% original? No one can, and if they do its prob not a very good one. Storys have similar plots and characters. Im sure you could compair Griffith to a thousand other characters out there, manga or otherwise. Good storytelling isnt about telling something new, its about telling something good in a way thats never been done before.
Well there are only so many types of stories that can be told. I think that while Berserk is much more adult than Naruto, they have some of the same basics. Guts and Griffith/Naruto and Sasuke/Casca and Sakura. The ninja in Naruto are essentially mercenaries and both have demons... Though Berserk's aren't as cuddly. And in both series, the characters' decisions directly effect the plot, rather than just being incidental. Naruto and Guts aren't dumb, but they're not exactly brilliant either.

They have nothing in comon, they have completely diffrent story, target audience and sorry, but what you wrote sounds really similar ON A PAPER, but thats it. Godfather and Avatar have more in comon than Berserk and Naruto.

I mean i like naruto or bleach but to compare it to berserk are you serious. Berserk is dark horrific and gory and hold true to itself. guts is a very unique character as he is a "Badass". The story very well tell you how he was and how he ended up in such a state of mind. It also show all the dark and digusting thing that happen to him when growing up, and why and how he obtain the skill he have in the story.
The demons are like the cenobites...Don't know why I didn't realize this before. Wonder if Hellraiser was the Kentaro Miura's inspiration for them...?

MY opinion: YES, I liked it more than the manga, its more medieval and less fantasy, it shows great emotions, love hate wrath sadness joy, and the characters designs are more manful/feminine like in the manga, COOL music, its feet to the feeling of the story, its sad it is short, and dont know about new berserk animes, when will finish, so its worth for watching

@hyuthestampede the characters and the story fits me better in anime, because of the less fantasy thing, I love this mercenary life - dream - become god - what was first? god or man - real emotions - godlike power - ego - love - let me alone hero - feel my big sword taste :) and the great contrast between medievel epos and demon eclipse swallow the world horror. its sad that they cant make 2 episodes more after the eclipse in anime, so the full anime serie could be a complete circle

Thats not a bad thing, i did feel their was a better level of shock as to when the GH show themselfs as in the manga where we see them clearly in vol 3, but see heres the thing it dosent anywhere nearly fit in with the rest of the show. it litrally comes out of no where and killed the show and made it unrewatchable compared to the manga
@anaelyssa i saw the anime & was so blown away i began reading the manga that night. some dislike the anime because some characters r left out, but if u consider where the anime ends in the story, it makes sense that they r left out. also i don't think that miura intended there 2 be a continuation of the anime when it was made. the anime does a good job of conveying the feelings miura wanted 2 convey & makes rereading the manga much better, cuz trust me u'll want 2 reread it once u get n2 it
Berserk is the best anime ever.. but i gotta say that i love more the Spanish version XD this one is a bit scary btw berserk 's story is still on in the manga n_n (hopefully they are working in the second season) another good anime is get backers ;)
This is a great song to a great anime, even if the show ends at the worst possible moment, lol. I love how haunting the song just comes off as, while still sounding beautiful at the same time.
I'm kind of sorry that Berserk was the first full anime I watched because EVERYTHING pales in comparison to it. Never has a story really touched me so much before. I was actually very sad when it was over. This story will stick around in my heart probably forever. Masterpiece doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about this anime. I'm hoping one day I will come across another story that runs as deep as this and that touches me the way this did.

I also didn't but a friend of mine encouraged me to read on and Im glad I did. There's another manga written by him called 20th Century Boys, that one is almost as good as Monster, and more popular. You should read like 10 chapters and if u still don't like it, just drop it.
U could also try reading Vinland Saga which is an epic viking manga and way more similar to Berserk. The art of that manga is also really good.

Do you know what a great aspect of this anime/manga is. i love how it starts of with demons and monster barely in it, but focus's on the battles between humans. then you see glimpses of demons, (zodd the immortal) the slow introduction of the demonic aspect just makes it's so much more epic when it really kicks in. This is why When the 5 or so head demons where introduced when griffith turns evil everyone watching literally got a sense of fear or ore for them. THAT is how you establish a Villain
@coifgx Absolutely! The fact that throughout the story every monologue that Griffith had was almost relevant to "unknown" events. Definitely made it much more interesting to the viewer.
The fact that Jeudau, was very descriptive about Griffith's Carisma, and "Supernatural" will kept you wondering is the character is really what it portrayed.
And the foreshadowing of Nosferatu Zodd was what really put the cherry on top of a great introduction of a Demon in the Making.
lol how can you even think of comparing Naruto to something like Berserk, I dont mind Naruto, but it's like comparing kindergarten to being a soldier under fire lol.

This series as much as my knowledge goes in watching Anime and reading Manga this anime is absolutely the best i have ever some across.Imagine for a minute if someone that you considered a "friend" sacrifices you over his own wishes. and if your life's purpose is to fulfill the dreams of others. I think thats fucked up! And thats what makes this series so great!

@hyuthestampede the characters and the story fits me better in anime, because of the less fantasy thing, I love this mercenary life - dream - become god - what was first? god or man - real emotions - godlike power - ego - love - let me alone hero - feel my big sword taste :) and the great contrast between medievel epos and demon eclipse swallow the world horror. its sad that they cant make 2 episodes more after the eclipse in anime, so the full anime serie could be a complete circle

@fleshlovers so are you saying that the reason you like the anime more is because the eclispe and the demon stuff comes completly out of nowhere at the very end. Thats not a bad thing, i did feel their was a better level of shock as to when the GH show themselfs as in the manga where we see them clearly in vol 3, but see heres the thing it dosent anywhere nearly fit in with the rest of the show. it litrally comes out of no where and killed the show and made it unrewatchable compared to the manga

@anaelyssa i saw the anime & was so blown away i began reading the manga that night. some dislike the anime because some characters r left out, but if u consider where the anime ends in the story, it makes sense that they r left out. also i don't think that miura intended there 2 be a continuation of the anime when it was made. the anime does a good job of conveying the feelings miura wanted 2 convey & makes rereading the manga much better, cuz trust me u'll want 2 reread it once u get n2 it

Berserk is the best anime ever.. but i gotta say that i love more the Spanish version XD this one is a bit scary btw berserk 's story is still on in the manga n_n (hopefully they are working in the second season) another good anime is get backers ;)

I'm kind of sorry that Berserk was the first full anime I watched because EVERYTHING pales in comparison to it. Never has a story really touched me so much before. I was actually very sad when it was over. This story will stick around in my heart probably forever. Masterpiece doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about this anime. I'm hoping one day I will come across another story that runs as deep as this and that touches me the way this did.

I also didn't but a friend of mine encouraged me to read on and Im glad I did. There's another manga written by him called 20th Century Boys, that one is almost as good as Monster, and more popular. You should read like 10 chapters and if u still don't like it, just drop it.
U could also try reading Vinland Saga which is an epic viking manga and way more similar to Berserk. The art of that manga is also really good.

Are people really comparing Berserk with Bleach and Naruto?
I mean, there aren't under any circumstances stories with the same tone, plot, development, and, specially, audience.
Bleach and Naruto are shonen, which means a more simple plot oriented to kids, while Berserk is a much more complex and adult story.
I love Berserk and actually find both Naruto and Bleach kinda fun, but there is no point in compare them.

The storyline is pretty childish.
If it was anything like berserk then aizen would have killed or crippled ichigo and ruled the soul society and real world while ichigos friends would be trying to figure out a way to beat em.

The plot the story of Berserk itself is more complex, it has a character who we see has many layers of humanity, despite his attempts to deny it.
This is a dark fantasy with its own twists and turns, it is based on the natural law of karma and casualty. Not a supernatural attempt to manipulate chi

Do you know what a great aspect of this anime/manga is. i love how it starts of with demons and monster barely in it, but focus's on the battles between humans. then you see glimpses of demons, (zodd the immortal) the slow introduction of the demonic aspect just makes it's so much more epic when it really kicks in. This is why When the 5 or so head demons where introduced when griffith turns evil everyone watching literally got a sense of fear or ore for them. THAT is how you establish a Villain

@coifgx Absolutely! The fact that throughout the story every monologue that Griffith had was almost relevant to "unknown" events. Definitely made it much more interesting to the viewer.
The fact that Jeudau, was very descriptive about Griffith's Carisma, and "Supernatural" will kept you wondering is the character is really what it portrayed.
And the foreshadowing of Nosferatu Zodd was what really put the cherry on top of a great introduction of a Demon in the Making.
