@TheRejectedXXX that song is not moby , its Terje rypdal last nite.a moby track was used at the end of the film.( God Moving Over the Face of the Waters) even though it was written by Richard Hall its performed by moby.
@abbyroman I know Heat was shot in 35mm. What I want to know is: 1. is this scene green screen? 2. If not, what camera did he use, as it seems digital to me (because of the depth of field)? It is interesting either way, as Mann seems to pursue the look of this scene in the following movies...
Fact: That was a blue screen, but it's of the actual view. The night they filmed it, it was cloudy so they used that instead. Amazing view.

I watched this last on a small SDTV, did not notice how fake the backdropped looked. Picture clarity spoils movies.

@TheDueI I wanted to know if this was green screen or some early digital experiment. Is there some info about this?

@abbyroman Not digital, br. This was shot on film. Mann shot on digital a lot later. I think he started with Ali.

@TheDueI I don't think it's green screen. They didn't use a single soundstage for this film.

What song is this in the background? I know it's from Terje Rypdal. Sounds kind of like "Mystery Man" but this is more steel guitar and haunting.
