All these people say that these things we see in the ice is Natural but EVERY natural time the ice retreated was when CO 2  rose and then oceans warmed...and released even more the difference was that there was actually less CO 2 then there is now and yet we produce more.....

@BlueSun1157 Start with NOAA web site. Search things such as "ice survey", "global mean temperature," "oceanic mean temperatures,' "Arctic albedo", "CO2ppm", CH4ppm". Also check some real surveys of climate scientists on their conclusions on the existence anthropogenic global warming. Then take your psychological transference of calling others willfully blind and check it.

Global warming is a natural process. The earth went through a medieval arm period about 1000 years ago where the temperatuers were similar to today's. No industry back then. Mars is warming up at the same rate as the earth approximately....

Its called the Earth is going through a natural cycle. Millions of years ago the Earth was in an Ice Age before that, MUCH more Co2 levels were released from Volcanoes as the Earth was a lot more Volcanically Active than it is today. Point is, this is a cycle, Co2 levels rise, and the Earth fixes itself (theoretically) when it goes into an Ice Age, and the cycle repeats itself. No wonder so many scientists sued Al Gore for false facts and what not.

I first went to the Mendenhall Glacier in 1999 on summer solstice, theoretically the longest and warmest day of the year. I see pictures of the same glacier now in 2009 and it is visibly MUCH smaller then when I saw it 10 years ago. Yes, it is true that they have been receding and nobody argues that point at all, after all that is what glaciers do, The point is the speed at which they are melting, do the math all that displaced water has to go somewhere, but I suppose that's not your problem.

The Arctic ice cap may be completely melted in the summer of 2015. CO2 is a greenhouse gas, by definition. More of it means more greenhouse effect. Let's get back to 350. The solutions are great for more that just solving global warming--they make us less dependent on foreign sources of oil, increase energy security, and lower energy costs through efficiency. Some of them make us healthier like walking and biking; more productive by cutting commute time.

Mendenhall has a negative mass-balance, which basically means its calving faster at the bottom than it's replenishing at the top. That is why it's retreating. Taku has a positive mass-balance because it hasn't overrun its moraine (yet) and is still grounded, so it doesn't calve as quickly. That's why the nearby Taku glacier is advancing. Many things affect mass-balance, but at least one of the biggest factors seems to be whether the glacier is grounded or terminates in water.
